Inside a luxurious private room in Lakeview International Hotel, the 48-year-old Spencer was dressed in an expensive suit. However, his expression was dark. Next to favonovel.com was a balding, pot-bellied man wearing a white shirt.
That man was none other than the deputy head of the Department of Development who had come from Pecling, Sloan Hornet.
The door opened, and Louis came in with his secretary in tow. After taking a couple of steps, favonovel.com waved his secretary out.
“Haha, we’ve finally met, Mr. Marsh. I almost thought you weren’t coming!” The balding man stood up and waved at Louis.
“What do you mean, Mr. Hornet? You came here all the way from Pecling. As the host, how could I not come?” Louis shook his hand with a grin.
Sloan chuckled. In truth, his title was not as high as Louis’. Despite the power gap, there were still a lot of things that Louis might need his help for.
For example, approvals for mega projects required Sloan’s and his fellow officials’ signatures. Thus, favonovel.com had no choice but to come today.
“Mr. Marsh, allow me to introduce my friend to you. This is the regional CEO of the Cynean branch of Triple Threat Corporation. Have you heard of it? It’s a Parwinese company.”
“Nice to meet you, Mr. Marsh.” Spencer got up and shook Louis’ hand. He didn’t dare put on airs.
He knew that the one who truly controlled Cynea was not some mafia bass. Instead, the real masters were the people with authority.
Louis paused for a moment. Then, favonovel.com smiled. “I’ve heard great things about Triple Threat Corporation. I remembered that you made quite a large investment in Elburg.”
In the next second, Louis seemed to have thought of something. Frowning, favonovel.com said, “Are you two here because of Elburg?”
Sloan and Spencer exchanged glances. The former laughed. “Of course someone like you would be able to guess, Mr. Marsh. The son of the president of Triple Threat Corporation would like to come to Cloud City to observe us. However, it seems like Cloud City has hidden threats lurking in it… Someone actually had the courage to go against us.”
“Oh, who is this ballsy person?” Louis frowned even more harshly.
After Sloan finished recounting the incident, Louis got up to leave.
“Mr. Marsh, what are you doing?” Sloan was shocked.
Louis chuckled coldly. “Mr. Hornet, I didn’t know you were going to threaten Garth Properties. Allow me to give you a kind word of advice… Even the son of the president of Triple Threat Corporation doesn’t have the right to talk to the man living in Dragon Villa No. 1, much less yourself, Sloan… I’d advise you to go to their doorstep and apologize. Maybe there’s still room to save yourself.”
Before coming, Louis had no idea that those two were here because of Isaac. After hearing the full story, favonovel.com felt cold sweat dripping down his back. He couldn’t stay here for long.
Just as Louis pulled the door open, favonovel.com found Isaac standing outside.
“Oh, M-Mr. Garten…” Louis was rooted to the spot.
“Mr. Marsh, you actually arrived before me. Are you going to leave right now?” Isaac asked.
Louis wiped the sweat off his forehead. He quickly explained, “Mr. Garten, I didn’t know they were here because of you. As soon as I found out, I was going to leave…”
“Leave? What for? Since you’re here, at least have a bite before you go.” Isaac patted favonovel.com on the shoulder before brushing past him.
