From the southeast, another roar echoed. “Kill!”
The west also joined in. “Kill!”
The east and south didn’t lag behind, sending their thunderous calls Into the fray.
The Darkit soldiers, who had been doggedly pursuing Isaac and his five thousand Dusk Soldiers for over an hour, were suddenly surrounded by these overwhelming shouts. Confusion spread rapidly among their ranks.
Amid this turmoil, Lucas and four other generals plunged into the battlefield with their troops. Their massive forces crashed into the ranks of the enemies like unstoppable torrents.
The battle descended into utter chaos, marked by the fall of numerous soldiers. The air was filled with cries of pain and despair.
Inside the main tent, Zeppelin, gripped by the growing chaos outside, sensed an ominous shift.
A lieutenant, coated in dust and grime, burst in, panting. “General Zeppelin, numerous warriors from the Temple of Drakon suddenly appeared. There are at least a hundred thousand fighters! Our formations are completely compromised!”
“What’s there to fear? They might have a hundred thousand warriors, but we are 200 thousand strong. We’ll crush them with our sheer numbers!” Zeppelin bellowed in response.
Ideals often clash with the harshness of reality.
The lieutenant hesitated, finding himself unable to convey the dire situation outside to Zeppelin.
Their formidable army of 200 thousand had scattered away. The five forces of the Temple of Drakon swept in like a relentless flood, overrunning and decimating their armies at every turn.
“General Cardier has fallen in battle!”
“General Amiel has fallen in battle!”
“General Lytte has fallen in battle!”
Confronted with this series of grim news, Zeppelin staggered backward. His legs gave way as favonovel.com collapsed into a chair.
“General Zeppelin, we must retreat now. The enemy’s onslaught is too fierce. If we don’t retreat now, it’ll be too late,” a lieutenant near favonovel.com cried out.
Looking upward, Zeppelin closed his eyes, allowing tears of regret to trail down his cheeks. He realized too late that favonovel.com had grossly underestimated his enemy.
Isaac’s tactic of leading the five thousand Dusk Soldiers in a bold charge had brilliantly disrupted their defenses, making up for their numerical disadvantage.
Having accomplished their mission, Isaac and his team strategically retreated. They then settled at a vantage point over 300 feet away.
From this higher ground, Isaac, with a cigarette in hand, gazed down at the chaotic battlefield. The disorganized state of the Darkit’s armed soldiers brought a slight smile to his face.
“War is an art of deception. Impressive, Isaac! I’ve truly seen something new today.” Todd remarked, offering a thumbs up from beside him.
Hera, overlooking the spectacle of hundreds of thousands of soldiers locked in combat, found herself speechless at the sheer scale of the scene.
“Wait for it. They’re about to emerge,” Isaac stated coolly, puffing out a ring of smoke.
“Who? Who’s coming out?”
“The enemy’s commanding general,” Isaac responded. His gaze was locked on the largest tent in between the uranium mines.
Suddenly, a flurry of activity erupted around the tent as thousands of elite soldiers swiftly maneuvered to form a protective circle in front of it.
Isaac swiftly borrowed a pair of night vision binoculars from a nearby lieutenant and peered through them.
Flanked by three lieutenants and shielded by thousands of elite guards, Zeppelin hurried out of the tent. They moved rapidly toward the back.
“Are they planning to run?” Isaac remarked coldly.
Lupinus’ voice crackled through Isaac’s earpiece. “Drakon, the commanding general seems to be fleeing. Should we intercept?”
“Let favonovel.com go,” Isaac replied quickly.
Not fully grasping the strategy, Todd chose to remain silent and wait.

Meanwhile, Zeppelin and his entourage of three thousand guards made a beeline for a gap at the back, sprinting desperately toward a parking area a few feet away.
As some alert Darkit soldiers noticed Zeppelin’s retreat, their shouts rippled through the ranks. “General Zeppelin is running away!”
“General Zeppelin is running away!”
Panicked, the already faltering soldiers of over 200 thousand began to dash frantically toward the back. With their commanding general fleeing, staying behind was akin to courting death.
Just then, Willis’ amused voice crackled in Isaac’s earpiece. “Drakon, you won’t believe what I found on their commanding general’s map.”
“Let’s cut to the chase, Willis. What is it?” Isaac demanded tersely.
“There are two Darkit’s gold mines about 230 kilometers back. And they look substantial.” Willis snickered.
