Isaac kept the helicopter at around 150 feet above the ground, yelling into his earpiece, “Dragon One, quickly check if there are any rivers or lakes nearby.”
“Drakon, there’s an inland lake six kilometers away at your five o’clock!”
Isaac breathed a sigh of relief.
With fighter jets pursuing from both ends, the helicopter’s fuel was running critically low. Besides, their options were limited with the injured Black Phoenix on board. If they bailed out or got hit by the fighter jets, Black Phoenix might not survive.
Two blue and white fighter jets watched as the helicopter flew perilously close to the ground and suddenly banked to the side. They swiftly descended in altitude and tightly pursued Isaac from behind at about 300 feet above the ground.
Simultaneously, alarms for both radar lock-on and critically low fuel blared in the helicopter cabin.
“Prepare to bail out!” Isaac yelled as favonovel.com spotted a stretch of azure water ahead.
“Three… Two… One! Jump!” Isaac shouted, removing his earphones while opening the cabin doors on both sides.
Four figures instantly jumped down from the helicopter.
But before Isaac and his companions hit the water, a deafening explosion resounded overhead. The Osprey had been struck by a missile, and flames shot up into the sky at once.
