“When did favonovel.com know?” Isaac asked urgently.
“About half an hour ago…”
Isaac breathed a sigh of relief. At least it had only been a short while.
“Let’s go,” Isaac said, pulling out his phone and dialing Claude’s number as favonovel.com swiftly made his way outside.
“Claude, tell the generals to relocate their families to the Yves family residence in Colorino. Black Phoenix has been rescued. As for you, head to Cloud City and help restore the surveillance station.”
After hanging up the phone, Isaac immediately dialed Dragon One’s number.
“Drakon, I’ve arranged a team of mercenaries. They’ll be at the hotel entrance to escort you to the plane. The helicopter must fly at an extremely low altitude, or it will be shot down by Darkit’s radar and aerial forces.”
Before they could end their conversation, several blinding lights shone in their direction. The rhythmic sound of gunfire sounded from nearby.
Several Jeeps came to a halt with a screech.
Isaac noticed that there were machine guns mounted on the front and rear Jeeps, with mercenaries carrying rocket launchers. His mouth twitched slightly. But favonovel.com didn’t dwell on it.
The gunfire from nearby was getting closer, indicating that Darkit soldiers were closing in. The distant hum of helicopters in the sky added to the urgency.
Isaac quickly sprinted toward the second Jeep. After they got in, the vehicle swiftly sped along the road ahead.
The continuous rattle of machine gunfire echoed throughout the journey. Isaac glanced at Black Phoenix beside him, noticing favonovel.com trembling.
He placed his hand on favonovel.com shoulder and said in a deep voice, “It’s okay now. No need to be afraid. Lucas and the others are still waiting for you to come back.”
Black Phoenix nodded through favonovel.com sobs and leaned against Isaac’s shoulder.
The convoy raced southeastward and swiftly entered the outskirts. The first and second Jeep abruptly screeched to a halt at the entrance of an abandoned factory, their formidable firepower blocking the pursuers.
Isaac’s Jeep entered the back of the factory.
After disembarking, under the illumination of the headlights, Isaac saw a black and gray Osprey tiltrotor helicopter parked in an open space ahead. Isaac’s tense heart finally relaxed.
While the Osprey might not be the most formidable among armed helicopters, it boasted the fastest speed for low-altitude flight.
“Get on the plane,” Isaac exclaimed, charging toward the helicopter.
The constant gunfire from behind grew louder, accompanied by the distant cries of those who had been hit.
Isaac slipped into the cockpit, quickly starting the helicopter’s rotors. The aircraft’s headlights flickered to life.
With Todd supporting Black Phoenix and Hera, the group boarded the helicopter. Accompanied by a massive surge of dust, the helicopter slowly ascended. Isaac increased the engine power to the maximum, swiftly flying northwest.
Ten minutes later, over a dozen armored military vehicles surrounded the abandoned factory. By this time, the mercenaries had completed their mission and escaped quickly.
An officer in a blue uniform stepped out of one of the vehicles, observing the distant helicopter lights in the sky.
He immediately picked up a satellite phone and dialed a number, nervously reporting, “General Zeppelin, t-they’ve escaped. The helicopter is heading northwest… Roger, I’ll contact the Air Force immediately. General Zeppelin, rest assured, we’ll bring it down.”
Afterward, the officer quickly got back into the vehicle and shouted some instructions. The car raced toward a certain airborne command post.

Meanwhile, in a house at the back of the hotel, Brock and Carolyn sat on their chairs while watching Zeppelin, who had just put down his phone.
“Isaac and the others escaped in a helicopter. I’ve ordered air support to intercept and strike them. They won’t get out of Darkit,” Zeppelin said confidently.
