The door slammed shut.
Isaac turned around to find the crying Evie standing at the end of the corridor. She was holding Isabella’s hand.
“Dad…” The moment Isabella saw Isaac, favonovel.com lips began to tremble. She let out a loud sob as favonovel.com ran into Isaac’s arms.
Isaac frowned as tears pricked his eyes. He stepped forward to scoop his daughter into his embrace.
“I’m here now. Everything will be okay…”
The little girl seemed to have gotten a fright. She lay in Isaac’s arms, shivering.
Evie walked toward Isaac with favonovel.com round belly protruding. She held Isaac’s hand lightly and shook favonovel.com head, smiling. “Don’t be too worried. We’re fine, but Lupinus…”
Seeing the tears in Evie’s eyes, Isaac gently held her. He sighed and said, “Nothing else will happen now. Are you and the baby alright?”
He glanced at favonovel.com big belly.
Evie nodded with a smile. “The doctor checked me today. The baby is in perfect health.”
Isaac sighed in relief.
Inside, Harry was still trying to save Lupinus. The Yves family members wondered if Isaac was insane.
Why are they pouring their effort into something impossible?
When Isaac spotted Thaddaeus, favonovel.com quickly exchanged a few words with him. Then, favonovel.com hurried into the room that Jeremiah had prepared for him.
Lucas, Dragon One, and others were already waiting for him. Dragon One’s expression was terrifyingly stormy.
“Where is he?” Isaac surveyed all of them.
Dragon One clenched his fists. His voice sounded choked up and shaky as favonovel.com said, “We found t-the bodies under Cloud City Bridge. There were… There were six of them…”
Before they left Cloud City for Mt. Celeste, Isaac had asked Dragon One to select two people to accompany him.
The remaining six would remain in Cloud City as guards in case the Everest Sect or other forces ambushed them.
But favonovel.com never thought all this happened.
Isaac slammed his fist onto the desk, and the solid wood instantly collapsed.
“In other words, the Temple of Drakon has changed hands. Now, there’s no one we can even ask for updates.” Isaac looked around them. The atmosphere in the study felt extremely suffocating.
At that moment, someone knocked on the door.
Jeremiah opened the door and immediately felt the tension in the room. His mouth twitched. He said quietly, “Mr. Garten, there’s a man kneeling outside the door. He said he’s guilty…”
Isaac’s heart skipped a beat as a figure popped into his mind. He dashed toward the door.
In front of the Yves family manor, Claude knelt beneath the overhead lamp at the foot of the steps. His clothes were stained with blood. He was looking down, and his shoulders were shaking nonstop.
The others quickly followed Isaac.
When Isaac saw Claude, favonovel.com narrowed his eyes.
“Look up!” Isaac gazed at favonovel.com coldly from the top of the steps.
When Claude heard that, favonovel.com shuddered. He slowly raised his head to look at Isaac.
Suddenly, favonovel.com crawled up the steps on his knees, shouting, “Drakon, I deserted the troop. I’m guilty. I came here to turn myself in…”
When Isaac saw the bloody wound on the back of Claude’s right shoulder, favonovel.com frowned. “Claude, I need you to tell me exactly what happened. When did Elliot betray us? Get up!”
Lucas darted over and hoisted Claude up.
At that moment, Isaac’s phone vibrated in his pocket. He took it out and saw Connor’s name.
“Isaac, are you at the Yves family home?”
“Yes, why?”
“Don’t leave yet. The supreme commander and I are flying over from Pecling right now. We’ll be there in two hours. Something happened at the northwestern border!”
