Isaac was puzzled until favonovel.com heard Altair’s words, which slightly eased his confusion.
This was the correct interpretation. If Altair had indeed discovered the Skyrend Sword first, favonovel.com would be crazy to inform Isaac.
From Altair’s words, it seemed favonovel.com had contemplated claiming the Skyrend Sword for himself but had a hard time pulling it out.
In the deepening night, Isaac leaped onto the massive tomb. With a keen gaze, favonovel.com could vaguely see the uneven top of the tomb, with a sword hilt protruding.
As Isaac was about to reach for it, a low and swift warning came from below.
“Someone’s approaching from the right. Retreat!”
“Isaac, come down quickly!”
Isaac was about to grab it, but favonovel.com gritted his teeth and had to turn around, leaping down from the tomb.
At that moment, Altair and the others had already sprinted to the left, seemingly familiar with the terrain.
“Keep up,” Isaac ordered Harry and the others, swiftly following and taking cover behind a few tombs along the left.
After running for about 300 feet, Altair and the others hid behind some tombs.
Isaac and his team promptly found refuge behind another tomb. It was only then that they realized the terrain there was higher.
Standing up slightly, they could see the situation near the massive tomb. However, the moonlight was faint, and they could only make out four or five figures seemingly stopped near the gigantic tomb.
“Who are they?” Altair turned to Isaac.
“I don’t know,” Isaac said somewhat helplessly. Even with good vision, favonovel.com couldn’t see clearly from such a distance.
“What should we do? Just watch as they take the Skyrend Sword away?” Altair was frustrated.
Isaac felt a sense of urgency. Regardless of the identity of those people, the fact remained that the Skyrend Sword had been discovered.
He turned, crouched behind the tomb, and lit a cigarette, thinking quickly.
“We have a larger group. Why not just go over there?” Altair approached again, urgently suggesting.
He hadn’t pulled out the Skyrend Sword himself, but at least that was much better than falling into the hands of the enemy.
Todd had already gone to get more people. Once the others arrived, there was not much to worry about those four or five people ahead, even if Lucius was among them.
“I thought we were the only ones who made it here? The others probably reached Emerald Hall long ago but didn’t find this place… Going up for a fight will surely alert others nearby. Isn’t that the same result?”
Altair’s mouth twitched, and the second elder behind favonovel.com nodded repeatedly. “Lord Drakon, think wisely. We shouldn’t act recklessly.”
“You really couldn’t pull the sword out?” Isaac inquired again.
“Beats me. Even when the third elder and I tried together, we still couldn’t pull it out. No idea what’s clamping onto it down there,” Altair said, sounding extremely frustrated.
Isaac coldly said, “Let’s go around first and find Mr. Guerra and the others.”
The group quietly moved away from behind the tomb, heading toward the rendezvous point from a different direction.
On the way, Isaac encountered Todd, who was rushing toward them with Chet and the others.
“Why did you come down?”
The terrain around the massive tomb was relatively elevated, leaving Todd confused.
“Let’s find a safe place first,” Isaac urged in a hushed tone.
His sixth sense of danger intensified, indicating that Everest Sect, the Norton family, and even Raksha Sect were likely nearby.
“I know a spot. There’s a collapsed pavilion on the right, and there’s a safe cellar below,” the Jensen family’s head said urgently.
The group immediately shifted to the right. There was a collapsed pavilion, and beside it was a concealed underground passage that they quickly entered.
Inside, the oxygen seemed low, and as soon as they entered, they could smell a strong, dusty smell.
