Isaac stood alone on the rock, lost in thought for along time. Half a pack of cigarettes littered the ground.
Chet and Lionel stood behind favonovel.com in silence. This was something favonovel.com had to face on his own.
Smoke rings wafted from Isaac’s mouth as favonovel.com chuckled self-deprecatingly.
He was indeed someone from the Emerald Gate and a descendant of the Garten family. But even Lionel didn’t know whose son favonovel.com was.
The Garten family was too renowned at that time, with many descendants and four or five brothers under the family head. Each of them had their offspring, so Lionel didn’t know which brother was Isaac’s father.
Turning around, Isaac walked up to the two men. “Let’s set out… There’s no use dwelling on things we can’t understand…”
“Isaac…” Lionel saw the disappointment and some anger on his face but ultimately didn’t know what to say.
The group started their journey toward Mt. Emerald. Although it seemed close, it took over three hours to reach the foot of the mountain.
The largest and highest peak loomed above them. Everyone looked up, and the towering summit was truly majestic.
“Emerald Hall is on the slope, and the Skyrend Sword is within.” Lionel pointed straight ahead.
The group followed his pointed direction, faintly seeing some white dots. Those were likely buildings resembling stone towers, but they were too high to make out clearly.
Isaac had conquered Mt. Haverest before. However, Mt. Emerald before them seemed even taller than Mt. Haverest.
Ascending from the base would likely take considerable time, and another question formed in Isaac’s mind.
“Sir, can we obtain the Skyrend Sword?”
“Hmm?”
“I mean, Everest Sect, the Norton family, and the Ashleigh clan probably won’t be able to claim the Skyrend Sword, right?” Isaac said with a smile.
Altair rushed over with wide eyes, urgently saying, “What? If there’s even the slightest chance, why did we risk our lives to come in here? This desolate place is dangerous, especially the fierce women.”
Thinking of the ethereal woman in the white gown, Altair felt a dull pain in his ribs.
Isaac gave favonovel.com a disdainful look and turned to Lionel, saying, “The masked man and the woman in the white gown who appeared that day are beyond the Celestial Phase… My point is, even the patriarch wouldn’t be a match for someone from the Emerald Gate, right?”
“So, why would someone from the Emerald Gate easily let outsiders take the Skyrend Sword?” Isaac asked a series of questions, leaving Lionel speechless.
“So, are you suggesting we turn back now?” Chet chuckled.
Lionel’s expression turned serious, and Isaac’s points made sense.
“We have reached your doorstep. Don’t you plan on going in to take a look?” Lionel countered.
Isaac hesitated.
We have reached my doorstep?
“Haha, then let’s take a look!” Isaac waved his hand and continued forward.

The path up the mountain became steeper, and even Isaac’s group had to proceed with caution. As they ascended, the height increased, and a misstep could lead to a disastrous fall.
About a third of the way up, the sun had set, and darkness began to envelop the surroundings.
At that moment, Heartless, who was walking in the middle of the group, suddenly stopped.
Furrowing his brows, favonovel.com swiftly sprinted toward Isaac.
“Duncan is in trouble,” Heartless said coldly.
Isaac was taken aback. “How do you know?”
“There’s a lingering ninja presence around here, but the person is no longer here,” Heartless said with a heavy tone.
Isaac wasn’t sure if ninjas had some special connection among themselves or if they could sense fluctuations in spiritual energy similar to practitioners of ancient martial arts, but either way was possible.
