Isaac’s plan immediately took effect.
As the six or seven bamboo rafts scattered in different directions, racing frantically away, the colossal figure standing in the water visibly hesitated for a moment.
During this brief moment of hesitation, Isaac and the others had already surged more than 600 feet away.
At this very moment, Altair’s bamboo raft, the last one, was making a winding dash toward the front.
The green island they had passed earlier was only vaguely imprinted in everyone’s minds. Without any navigation systems or reference points, finding the island again was no easy feat.
“Don’t look at me, don’t look at me. God, please protect us,” Altair managed his spiritual energy while chanting with closed eyes and muttering rapidly.
Suddenly, favonovel.com remembered Duncan on his bamboo raft. He widened his eyes and turned his head to look backward.
The colossal creature had once again disappeared. However, a massive ripple had emerged from the water more than 300 feet away, rapidly approaching Altair’s bamboo raft.
“Damn it!” Altair couldn’t help but burst out a curse.
W-What is that saying?
Just when you are afraid of something, there it comes!
Out of all the bamboo rafts, why did it have to target mine?!
There was no time to blame Duncan now. Escaping was their top priority.
Duncan naturally knew the terror of this giant beast, no longer drawing his sword to fight but unleashing the power within favonovel.com to join Altair in propelling the raft for their lives.
Isaac’s memory of the island’s location was the most accurate, and, of course, Lionel and Chet in the front also knew it very well.
The two bamboo rafts appeared almost one after the other on the east side of the small island.
“Lionel, what exactly is suppressed under the stone tower? Is there something beneath every stone tower?” Chet, curious, looked over at his companion.
Lionel shook his head, gazing at the green island now in view, and said in a deep voice, “Not every stone tower suppresses beings or creatures. But whenever we encounter it, with our capabilities, it’s a matter of life and death.”
“What do you mean?”
“Those suppressed under the stone tower are all Emerald sinners, imprisoned beneath the stone tower. In the darkness, they have to endure the punishment of loneliness until death,” Lionel said softly.
“How do you know?”
Not only Chet but even Lucius might not be aware of such secrets.
Lionel glanced at Chet, choosing not to answer the rest of the question.
After the two rafts landed on the island, Isaac and the others quickly dragged them ashore and hid behind the rocks.
Standing on the shore, Isaac looked up at the small island, only 900 feet high. He glanced back at the vast expanse of water, wondering if they would get lost.
“Apothecary, go to the island and find a vantage point. Check if they’re all coming.”
As the words left his mouth, two small black dots quickly appeared in his field of vision. Two bamboo rafts were speeding toward them.
As the bamboo rafts approached, Isaac could finally make out the figure. They were the three skilled members of the Jensen family, Heartless, and two others.
“Lord Drakon is indeed resourceful. Thanks to the dispersed escape, we managed to escape,” one of the Jensen family experts said, walking up to Isaac with a courteous smile.
“Don’t laugh too soon. Altair is still missing. We don’t know if he’s been eaten,” Isaac replied, waving his hand.
The smiles on the faces of the Jensen family members froze.
Harry quickly ran toward the top of the island to find a high point for observation. He didn’t want his comrades to die in the jaws of that colossal beast.
The rest of the group anxiously waited on the shore.
After more than an hour, Harry’s voice came from the top of the island, saying, “Sir, they’re coming in your five o’clock direction. That colossal ape is also chasing them.”
Upon hearing the second sentence, everyone’s hearts tightened.
Isaac focused his gaze on the direction Harry mentioned, where three small black dots rapidly emerged on the white, misty water. But there was a distance of 150 feet between the three of them, and the bamboo rafts beneath their feet were not visible. Nevertheless, they were rushing toward this side at an incredibly fast pace.
Behind those three dots, a massive ripple rose from the water, rapidly chasing after them.
As they drew closer, Isaac could finally discern that Altair and the others were standing on bamboo rafts, each riding a large piece of bamboo, propelling themselves toward them with their spiritual energy.
“Isaac, help! For God’s sake, that damn giant monkey has gone crazy!” Altair’s frantic shouts echoed from more than 300 feet away.
