“Quietly go over and take a look,” Isaac said, then added, “Go over there with Todd.”
Isaac sat in the car and squinted his eyes, watching the cars in front. He knew there were two munks inside who hadn’t come out.
After Lucas and Todd got out, they casually walked toward the front.
The two munks in the car assumed they were just bystanders and paid them no attention. However, when Lucas and Todd turned and entered the corridor, the two munks immediately got out of the car.
“Hey, are you guys from the Crimson Brow Sect?” Isaac’s shout came from behind.
The two munks immediately turned around.
Seeing Isaac, they paused for a moment. Then, their faces twisted into expressions of rage and hostility, rushing toward Isaac with fists swinging.
Two thuds sounded.
The two munks collapsed instantly.
Isaac noticed a strange energy emanating from them, but it wasn’t spiritual energy. Still, it was too weak for him.
Isaac glanced at the two guys lying on the ground, pondered for a moment, and turned toward the corridor.
The building had four floors, with many areas showing signs of decay, suggesting it was several decades old.
As favonovel.com walked up to the third floor, favonovel.com heard a few cries coming from the right. Isaac immediately turned right, and an open, shabby wooden door led favonovel.com inside.
Inside the room, favonovel.com found the munks from earlier lying on the floor.
“Drakon, in here!” Lucas’ voice came from a room inside.
Isaac quickly entered. He saw a munk lying on the floor in the dimly lit room. On the worn-out wooden bed in front of favonovel.com lay an old man with a dagger lodged in his chest and blood flowing out of him.
Boom!
When Isaac saw the old man, his eyes widened in shock.
Isn’t this the old man from the group of worshipers I saw earlier in the day during the Ninth Realm Seer’s funeral?
Lucas and Todd stood nearby, and under the table on the right, a five or six-year-old boy looked at favonovel.com with terrified eyes.
The old man slowly raised his hand and turned to look at Isaac. A hoarse and broken sound came from his throat as if favonovel.com wanted to say something.
Isaac quickly walked up and grabbed the old man’s calloused hand.
“Old man, do you have something to say?”
The old man nodded slightly. Then, favonovel.com looked toward the little boy under the table.
Isaac turned his head to look at the boy.
“Kar… Karmic…” The old man’s eyes revealed infinite kindness and reluctance when favonovel.com looked at the little boy.
As if sensing his emotions, the little boy crawled out from under the table and threw himself into the old man’s arms, sobbing.
Isaac didn’t understand why the munks from Crimson Brow Sect wanted to kill the old man, but favonovel.com didn’t want to see the little boy lose his grandfather.
“Lucas, get the car and call Apothecary. Tell favonovel.com to hurry here. We’ll meet on the way,” Isaac urgently instructed Lucas. Then, favonovel.com leaned down, lifted the old man from the bed, and turned to walk outside.
As they descended the stairs, the old man started coughing, splattering blood onto Isaac’s clothes. The man raised his hand and tightly gripped Isaac’s sleeve.
With cloudy eyes, favonovel.com looked at Isaac and mumbled, “Ten, Tenth Karmic, thank you!”
After uttering his last word, the large hand grasping Isaac’s sleeve suddenly dropped.
Isaac abruptly halted in the middle of the corridor and stared at the old man in his arms, who was now lifeless.
“Is favonovel.com dead?” Todd behind favonovel.com was stunned.
Isaac nodded and turned to the little boy clutching the old man’s clothes.
He furrowed his brows. “Is your name Karmic?”
