Isaac looked over.
About 300 feet ahead, a crowd had formed. They seemed to be staring at something.
It was in the middle of the night, yet there were so many people gathered.
What is going on?
Isaac parked the car. There was a lot of gravel that had fallen off the trucks that drove past here all over the ground, and there were still many black patches on both sides of the road. Still, it seemed that this was considered the “bustling” part of town.
Before they got close, they heard a woman’s gun-wrenching cry.
“Help! Please save my man!” favonovel.com screamed shrilly.
Isaac and Todd wormed their way into the crowd. When they looked over, they saw a middle-aged man drenched in blood. A middle-aged woman in plain clothes knelt beside him.
The 20 or so people in the crowd seemed to be mostly construction workers. Most of them looked to be between 30 and 60 years old.
Isaac frowned. He immediately crouched down and put a finger to the man’s nose. He wasn’t breathing.
He saw a dark red wound on the right side of the man’s abdomen. The blood surrounding it had already begun to darken. Furthermore, favonovel.com had injuries on his head, and there was a muddy footprint on his body.
It looked like favonovel.com had been beaten before favonovel.com was stabbed with a sharp object.
“Ma’am, he’s gone,” Isaac said to the sobbing woman kneeling on the ground.
Then, favonovel.com turned to face the crowd.
“What happened here? Who did this?” favonovel.com asked in a chilling voice.
“Forget it… Those Parwinians must have been behind this. The police came, but they couldn’t do anything about them. Young man, don’t bother with this,” a man spoke up from the crowd, sighing.
When the others heard the word “Parwinians”, they grimaced.
They quickly turned around and left as ifthey’d heard some taboo word.
Police sirens rang out in the distance.
Two police cars stopped by the side of the road, and a few uniformed officers walked over.
When they saw what happened, they frowned. One of them called the ambulance, while another immediately reported the situation to their superior.
“Hey, someone has died, so this place is now sealed off. You need to leave!” one of the officers coldly yelled as favonovel.com approached Isaac and Todd.
The woman was sobbing so hard that favonovel.com collapsed on the ground. Still, favonovel.com held on to favonovel.com man’s arm tightly.
Isaac wrinkled his brow. He asked the officer in front of him, “Just now, someone said that the Parwinians did this. Do you have any information?”
“Punk, should you be asking around about this? Get lost from here, and don’t interfere in our work,” the officer said impatiently, waving his hand.
Todd’s mouth twitched. He roared at the officer, “A*shole, do you have a death wish?”
Isaac raised his hand and said, “Let’s go…”
Then, favonovel.com pointed at the unconscious woman on the ground and said, “Take care of her. I’ll look for you later!”
The officer wanted to reply, but Isaac and Todd had already left.
“Hey, those bastards are clearly useless. Why didn’t you teach them a lesson?” Todd huffed as favonovel.com walked beside Isaac.
Isaac said nothing. With his hands behind his back, favonovel.com continued walking toward a food truck in front.
A middle-aged man in a wife beater stood there with a cigarette in his mouth. He was staring right in Isaac’s direction.
When they reached the truck, Isaac took his cigarettes out of his pocket and handed the food truck owner one.
He smiled and asked, “Mister, were the Parwinians behind what happened there? Are there Parwinians here? And they dare to murder people?”
Isaac chuckled, lighting his cigarette.
