This silenced everyone in the classroom.
“Leave that aside for now. First, get this bastard out for me,” Lochlan waved his hand and then pointed menacingly at Isaac.
Isaac frowned, dialed Louis’ number, and spoke in front of everyone, “Louis, is the task force captain named Maiden?”
“Mr. Gaiten, yeah, I think the captain’s last name is Maiden. What’s going on?”
“Replace him, this guy won’t do it. I recommend Kingston as the captain forthis task force!” Isaac then hung up.
All eyes in the classroom focused on Isaac again.
Lochlan was momentarily stunned. He then burst into laughter, pointed at Isaac, and jeered, “You little brat, are you a nutcase who escaped from a psychiatric hospital?! I was personally appointed to lead this task force by the deputy chief of the law enforcement center. You, a punk, want to change that? Are you out of your mind?”
Kingston also found it somewhat unbelievable. This was no joking matter.
Isaac lit a cigarette, turned to the confused officer at the door, and asked, “Where did you find the child?”
The officer glanced at Lochlan and hesitated.
“Don’t tell him! He doesn’t have the right to know!” Lochlan said and pulled out his gun from his waist.
He pointed the gun at Isaac and growled, “Kid, you’ve got one minute to get the hell out of here. Otherwise, I’m going to take matters into my own hands!”
“Mr. Maiden, no, please don’t! I know Mr. Garten. He’s powerful. Put the gun down, quickly!” Kingston saw Lochlan draw his gun and felt his heart jump into his throat.
“Kingston, you little bastard. Are you my man or this punk’s? Don’t you recognize your boss anymore?!” Lochlan scolded Kingston.
The dozen or so parents in front were stunned.
Suddenly, Isaac moved and swiftly charged toward the front.
Lochlan saw a blur in front of him, followed by a severe pain in his chest before his body was flung backward.
“Argh!” favonovel.com screamed, crashed into the left wall, and tumbled down.
Blood streamed from his nose and mouth as favonovel.com lay on the ground, moaning and writhing.
Jorgensen was dumbfounded.
“What the hell are you doing, kid? You dared hurt Mr. Maiden. You wouldn’t be able to bear the consequences!” Jorgensen roared.
At that moment, two men in black uniforms swiftly entered.
After a quick scan, the slightly older-looking man took out a document from his briefcase and said in a deep voice, “According to the decision of the law enforcement center, Lochlan Maiden is relieved of his duties as the captain of the Layton Bush Elementary School missing case, effective immediately… The new task force captain will be Kingston.”
Upon hearing this, the officers, especially Kingston, were dumbfounded.
Kingston looked like favonovel.com could fit two eggs in his gaping mouth.
“Kingston, your appointment will be completed after the case is settled. Understand?”
Although Kingston felt overjoyed, favonovel.com maintained a calm and serious expression and said, “Understood… Thank you for trusting me. I will not disappoint.”
The two officers in black walked up to the puzzled Lochlan. Then, they removed his shoulder badge, snatched his gun, and escorted favonovel.com out.
“You’re the captain now. Why are you looking at me like that?” Isaac frowned at Kingston.
Kingston immediately turned to the other officers behind favonovel.com and said, “Return their phones at once. Prepare some fruits and drinking water, and find a nearby hotel to settle them in!”
