Before Lucius could say anything, Samuel roared, “You moron, do you know how many people your cowardice cost?!”
As soon as favonovel.com said that, favonovel.com channeled his spiritual energy and kicked Keiran hard in the ankle.
A crisp, cracking noise filled the room. Keiran fell to the ground sideways, clutching his broken ankle and wailing in pain.
When Lucius saw this, his cold expression relaxed slightly.
“Sir Lucius, it’s the lack of training on the Ashleigh clan’s part that led to this disaster. Leave this moron to me, and I’ll teach favonovel.com a proper lesson…” Samuel lowered his head and asked Lucius for mercy.
Any observant person could immediately tell that Samuel was protecting his own subordinate.
Dozens of lives were lost, and they were Divinity Phase martial artists at that. Training new blood from the ground up would take so much more time and resources. But no one would miss Keiran if favonovel.com died.
However, Lucius didn’t bother to push this further. After all, Keiran was not from the Everest Sect. Furthermore, the Ashleigh clan had their own patriarch. If favonovel.com overstepped, favonovel.com was afraid he’d be in bigger trouble when favonovel.com went back.
“Whatever… Get lost…”
Keiran rushed out of the room.
Just as everyone let out a breath of relief, Lucius turned his head toward Altair and Mizar.
“During the battle earlier, the Jensens and the Stoners were hiding as far away as possible like mice who’d just seen a cat. The Nortons lost 23 people, while the Jensen family only lost two. Jensen, aren’t you going to give me an explanation?”
“And you, too, lady of the Stoner family…”
Mizar turned to Altair. She, indeed, didn’t know much. But when the chaos ensued, she’d noticed how the Jensens began to huddle together protectively. It seemed like they’d known something in advance. Thus, favonovel.com immediately led favonovel.com people next to the Jensens. That was how she’d minimized favonovel.com losses.
“That’s right. How come the Jensen family only lost two people?” Channing yelled.
Lucius slowly got to his feet and approached Altair.
With every step, Altair felt the pressure on his shoulders grow larger.
As soon as Lucius was standing right in front of him, Altair lost it. He gritted his teeth and let out a roar. Then, favonovel.com fell to one knee.
“Young one, tell me. Did that bastard Isaac call you in advance? Did you know something already?” Lucius slowly leaned down and stared at Altair.
Large beads of sweat dripped down Altair’s forehead. It suddenly felt as hot as a midsummer day. Yet, Lucius’ gaze was as icy as the South Pole.
Suddenly, favonovel.com smiled. He said to Lucius, emphasizing each word, “Sir Lucius, did you know that while eagles are brave, they won’t throw their lives away for people who aren’t deserving?”
Lucius was stunned. Then, favonovel.com cackled out loud. “Eagles? Your patriarch also calls himself an eagle on the field. Oh, I’d almost forgotten that… That also makes sense…”
Lucius raised his head and slammed his hand down on Altair’s shoulder. Altair fell to his knees harshly.
“Jensen, Stoner, and Ashleigh, get out of my sight. Channing and Caesar, you two stay!” Lucius yelled before turning around and taking a seat again.
Samuel frowned. Mizar was utterly confused. She helped Altair up and walked out of the room.
After the trio left, Caesar said ferociously, “Sir Lucius, did you notice something?”
Lucius nodded and replied, “Order the Intelligence Hall to look into the background of those bloodsuckers who came tonight. I want to pay them a visit.”
