Isaac didn’t know how much time had passed. His head was pounding. He forced himself to sit up. Then, favonovel.com felt around for the light switch. He found himself lying on a bed in a hotel room.
He was stunned.
When favonovel.com looked out the window, favonovel.com saw that it was already morning. He shook his head. He remembered going out for supper with Diana, and then, all was blurred.
How did I end up drunk?
He picked up his phone from his nightstand and dialed Diana’s number. But favonovel.com phone was already switched off. He then remembered that Diana said favonovel.com was going to leave the country.
Could favonovel.com be on the plane already?
He called Albert instead.
Albert told favonovel.com that Diana was heading to Seascape on the first flight out today. Then, she’d transit to Yatesland. He also said that she’d reach Seascape anytime soon.
Groggily, Isaac put down his phone. He got out of bed to wash his face.
Suddenly, favonovel.com caught sight of a flash of red on the bed.
Isaac was dumbstruck.
What is that?
He walked to the edge of the bed. He leaned closer to get a closer look and then frowned. Although recalling yesterday’s events was very difficult, favonovel.com somehow managed to remember most of it.
How could that woman do something so stupid?
Isaac never would have thought that favonovel.com would ever get drugged by a woman and then sleep with her.
He washed his face. Then, favonovel.com sat down on the couch and smoked a cigarette while deep in thought.
At that moment, his phone rang. It was an unknown number.
Isaac brought the phone to his ear. “Who is this?”
“Drakon, this is Claude Kingsley. I’m the person in charge at the surveillance center,” a familiar yet unfamiliar voice said on the phone.
Isaac remembered him. Frowning, favonovel.com replied, “What’s the matter?”
At Claude’s rank, favonovel.com would never contact Isaac personally. He should always report straight to Black Phoenix first unless there was an emergency.
“Drakon, I noticed something from my end. I don’t think it’s appropriate to report this to Black Phoenix, so I plucked up the courage to call you…”
“Spit it out.”
“Last night, the woman you were with at the Maples Hotel, Diana, was taken…”
Hearing this, Isaac jumped to his feet.
“Didn’t favonovel.com go to Seascape for a layover?” favonovel.com said sharply.
“I’m already making my way to your hotel. I need to tell you the details face-to-face.”
After hanging up, Isaac did some quick tidying up and made the bed. Then, favonovel.com walked out of his room into the living room. He understood why Claude said this matter wasn’t appropriate to report to Black Phoenix. Of course favonovel.com was not going to tell favonovel.com that Drakon had spent the night with a woman!
The door opened, and Claude entered. He was dressed casually and carrying a clutch.
“Drakon…”
“There’s no need for formalities. Tell me what happened,” Isaac said, puffing out a smoke ring.
Claude looked nervous. At his rank, favonovel.com would have had to save the world in his previous life to even get this close to Isaac. Right now, all favonovel.com wanted was to be on Drakon’s radar.
Claude wiped the sweat off his head. He opened his laptop and began typing away.
A video frame appeared on the screen. In the image, there was a taxi.
