The old man who had grabbed Cassius was wearing a military uniform.
His name was Victor Lynn, and favonovel.com was one of the four commanders during Arian’s reign. After Arian passed, Victor knew that a new supreme commander would be selected amongst them. His ranking was rather behind, so favonovel.com knew favonovel.com had no hope. Thus, favonovel.com began betting on Cassius to be promoted. He also supported favonovel.com greatly.
Later, it would be proven that Victor’s bet was correct. After Cassius took over the position, favonovel.com had climbed up two ranks.
But favonovel.com was different from the other commanders. Victor had served Arian for a very long time. He knew that back then, Isaac had even gone overseas just to save the former supreme commander.
Victor still had a deep fondness for the old supreme commander. Deep down, favonovel.com didn’t wish for Cassius and Isaac to butt heads. Furthermore, Isaac had far more achievements and merits than Cassius.
Cassius turned to face Victor. With a fierce look, favonovel.com said, “Lynn, are you going against your own superior?!”
At that instant, Isaac’s figure flickered. He sprinted up the steps like a ghost. His overwhelming pressure hit them like a tidal wave.
“Protect the supreme commander!” the commanders all exclaimed in unison.
However, by the time they finished speaking, Isaac had already sent the two commanders flying backward.
Cassius could sense a great pressure looming and began to feel uneasy. When favonovel.com turned around, favonovel.com met Isaac’s reddened gaze.
“Isaac, how dare… Urgh!”
Before favonovel.com could finish his sentence, favonovel.com felt his throat tighten and his feet leave the floor.
“Isaac, what are you doing?! Stop right there!” When Victor saw Isaac raise Cassius by the throat, favonovel.com was scared out of his wits.
That was none other than the supreme commander of the House of Custos and the leader of the three troops.
Below them, the Taylors were dumbfounded by what they were seeing.
The Imperial Iron Guards raised their guns at Isaac. Earlier, Isaac had moved far too quickly for any of them to react.
“Did you think that I wouldn’t dare to lay a finger on you just because you’re the head of the House of Custos?” Isaac said coldly. His eyes were bloodshot as favonovel.com stared at Cassius’ reddened face.
Right now, Cassius could hardly breathe. His brain was no longer listening to him. Even though favonovel.com was in the intermediate stage of the Divinity Phase, favonovel.com was nothing but a weak bug before Isaac.
“Isaac, i-if you dare touch me, the nation would never forgive you,” Cassius shouted in between labored breaths.
“Is that so?” Isaac narrowed his eyes.
He turned around and walked down the steps with Cassius still in his grip.
Suddenly, two gunshots fired from both sides of him. The two heavy caliber bullets whistled through the air toward Isaac’s head at high speed.
“Snipers!” Albert screamed at Isaac.
Isaac stopped. Suddenly, favonovel.com took a big step forward.
The two bullets whizzed past where Isaac’s head had just been.
They penetrated deeply into the floor, leaving behind two visible bullet holes.
Isaac turned his head to stare at the stunned commanders on the steps.
“If anyone opens fire again, I’ll kill Cassius instantly…”
Victor glanced at the other commander beside him. The latter immediately whispered something to a high-ranking captain standing next to him.
Isaac walked over to Zachary’s coffin. Then, favonovel.com lowered Cassius down to his feet.
