Isaac chuckled when favonovel.com saw Cassius subconsciously take a step backward.
“Commander Romero, don’t you recognize these three people? Oh, wait, I think Mr. Grannel doesn’t. Let me introduce them to you,” Isaac said.
He pointed at the woman by the side. “This is the supreme commander’s personal maid. She was the one who brought in the food on the day of the poisoning incident. So, favonovel.com would know whether or not the dishes have been tampered with beforehand…”
Isaac pointed at the man next to her. “This gentleman here is the supreme commander’s personal chef. He was the one who made all the dishes that were served on that very same day. He would be the first to know if an unauthorized person sneaked into the kitchen…”
Lastly, Isaac said, “And this man, the final one, is the most powerful of all. He is the gastroenterologist at the military headquarters who tested the supreme commander’s organs for signs of poisoning… In other words, these three people are the most powerful witnesses who can testify whether the supreme commander is lying about being poisoned or not.”
Cassius started sweating buckets. He pointed at Isaac and stammered, “T-They were all… H-How did you… Isaac, w-what the f*ck…”
“They were all sent abroad never to return home, you say? How did I know, you ask? Have you forgotten what I do for a living?” Isaac asked one question right after another. He stepped forward with each question, backing Cassius into the pillar behind him.
Cassius closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He suddenly chuckled and said, “And to think I was curious as to why you were the only one bustling around after Albert got caught. Y-You’ve been planning this all along!”
“Mr. Grannel, do you still want me to question these three witnesses in your presence?” Isaac asked, ignoring Cassius altogether. He turned to look at Ethan instead.
Hearing this, Ethan frowned.
Cassius then turned and yelled at Ethan, “Mr. Grannel, I admit that I faked the entire poisoning incident, but it is true that Albert has been acting weirdly for a long while. I suspect that he’s a spy! I faked this poisoning incident to look for an excuse to arrest favonovel.com and his father. I want to grill favonovel.com until favonovel.com opens his mouth. Mr. Grannel, you understand, don’t you?”
“After all, the House of Custos is a very important organization with complete authority over the three armies. We can’t let anyone suspicious remain here!”
There was a hint of dissatisfaction in Connor’s eyes. But favonovel.com just kept his mouth shut and continued frowning.
Isaac’s lips were curled up in a cold smirk.
Who would have thought that Cassius would come up with such a lame excuse after everything favonovel.com did?
He should have been a stand-up comedian instead…
Still, Isaac was interested to know Ethan’s response.
Ethan glanced at Isaac and then at Cassius. He said calmly, “Well, it’s not that big of an issue after all. Isaac, I’ll get Cassius to write a full report on this matter. As for Albert, I have no say. He’s from the House of Custos, so favonovel.com should remain at the mercy of the House of Custos… I believe that…”
“You believe that Commander Romero will give Albert a fair trial and return favonovel.com the justice favonovel.com deserves, do you?” Isaac asked, interrupting Ethan. His face scrunched up into a deep frown.
Isaac was starting to lose his temper.
The truth was so obvious that even the blind could see it… How could Ethan let Cassius go so easily like that?!
In fact, the way Isaac saw it, Ethan was even taking Cassius’ side. Ever since returning from Cantonne, he’d gotten Lucas to contact Todd and find the key witnesses in Cassius’ food poisoning incident.
Isaac had spent at least millions of dollars daily trying to get a hold of these people. And that was just the money, not including the time and effort he’d put into it. Moreover, in order not to raise Cassius’ suspicion, Isaac even infiltrated Everest Sect on his own.
Once presented with evidence, favonovel.com had thought that Ethan would know what to do without Isaac having to say anything. However, it now seemed as if it was no longer the case.
What kind of f*cked-up verdict is this?
Ethan frowned and looked at Isaac. “Then, what do you want?”
“That’s right, Isaac. Mr. Grannel has already said what favonovel.com wanted to say. I’ll give Albert…”
Isaac’s eyes turned red immediately. He dashed forward like lightning toward Cassius and landed a heavy blow against his cheek.
