Like a cheetah, Isaac arched his spine and grabbed onto the thick tree trunk with both arms. His eyes stared straight below.
Soon after, several figures began sprinting toward the source of the fire. After that, Isaac released his grip, and his body fell soundlessly to the ground.
The entire Everest Sect only had two passages that led inward. One was the cave in the very south, and the other was a cliff toward the east.
This time, Isaac chose to enter through the cave in the south. Abandoning his black backpack on the tree, Isaac flitted through the night like a ghost.
While the guards were all focused on the fire, favonovel.com easily infiltrated the Everest Sect.
He’d spent some time in the dungeon in the back of the mountains before. Besides Chet, favonovel.com was probably the person most familiar with the path to the dungeon as well as its inside.
He carefully made his way to the outskirts of the cave at the back of the mountain. When favonovel.com saw four guards striding over, favonovel.com flipped himself off the cliff on the left.
He grabbed onto a protruding stone on the mountain wall as his entire body dangled in midair. Once the footsteps faded away, favonovel.com hauled himself back up.
Isaac saw that four more guards were standing outside the cave. It was still early, so favonovel.com crouched down and hid in a crevice in the mountain. He knew that at 12:00 am, the guards would change shifts.
The back mountain was so silent that favonovel.com could hear his own breathing.
When 12:00 am hit, Isaac faintly saw several figures coming from the east.
The next shift is here…
He stuck his head out to the right side of the cave and took a peek. The four guards were ready to change shifts.
Isaac pressed his body as close to the wall as possible as the footsteps drew near.
As the four armored guards walked past him, Isaac held his breath and focused. Stealthily, favonovel.com followed them from a distance of 25 feet.
“Hey, why are there five of you today? Isn’t it usually four?” One of the guards pointed at the next shift of guards, rubbing his eyes.
The four guards in front paused. They all turned their heads, but no one was behind them.
“Are you sleepwalking? What do you mean five? Did you see a ghost or what?” The leader of the next shift guffawed.
The guard at the cave was momentarily stunned. He strained his eyes for a closer look, but the fifth person had indeed disappeared. He cursed to himself quietly before walking over.
During the shift change, they would exchange keys as well as weapons and poisons to prevent prisoners from escaping.
While the eight of them were occupied, Isaac stuck his head out from the cliff in front. He put a huge force on the stone favonovel.com was grabbing, and his body lifted into the air gracefully. Like a cheetah, favonovel.com fell onto the ground on all fours. In the next second, be unleashed a large burst of spiritual energy.
Isaac’s figure flickered into the cave from the right side, looking like nothing more than a black blur.
“Hey, did you see that? Did something just run inside?” one of the guards exclaimed.
The rest of them looked confused.
“What thing? Besides owls and dogs, what else is there in this god-forsaken place? Hurry up. I want to go to bed after this,” another guard answered impatiently.
By that time, Isaac was already heading down the downward passage. He made his way down the steps with familiarity.
After several left and right turns, favonovel.com arrived at the Everest Sect’s dungeon.
Besides the two cells at the deepest part of the dungeon that only had one exit overhead, the other cells were only half-sealed. They had bars made of specialized metal as doors.
As Isaac clashed past cell after cell, favonovel.com abruptly came to a stop.
