Nobody present understood why Isaac wanted Harry to nurse Heath back to health within two days. However, Harry didn’t dare to ask any further questions.
After that, Isaac continued discussing with his generals until the crack of dawn. It was only then that they adjourned the meeting and went home.
Isaac went upstairs to the bedroom and took a quick shower. The sky was already beginning to light up.
It seemed as if Allegra had returned at around 3:00 am last night.
This time, Isaac didn’t detect any bloody smell from her.
He saw that Allegra was already fast asleep in bed. So favonovel.com carefully crawled under the covers and got into bed.
“Isaac, is Evie in trouble this time?” Allegra suddenly asked, favonovel.com back still facing him.
Isaac was stunned momentarily. He chuckled and said, “No, she’s fine. She’s just out on a long trip.”
He wanted to say something else, but Allegra didn’t reply to favonovel.com anymore.
He chose to keep the truth from favonovel.com because favonovel.com was worried Allegra would do something rash and foolish again.
The Ashleighs would have surely laid a very elaborate trap for favonovel.com this time. He didn’t want Allegra to get involved in it.
There were three sudden knocks on the door.
Isaac sleepily blinked his eyes open and realized that the other side of the bed was empty. The sun was shining brightly through the windows.
“Isaac, Heath is awake. Do you want to see favonovel.com for a bit?” Harry asked through the door.
Isaac hopped out of bed and hurriedly washed up. Then, favonovel.com went to get the door.
There were a number of contractors in the living room. They were repairing the damage from last night. Holly was also there, supervising them.
Isaac followed Harry into the spare bedroom. It was filled with the smell of herbs and medicine.
Heath was lying in an herbal bath. Only his head peeked out from beneath the water. He stared weakly at Isaac as the latter entered the room.
“They think you’re here as an undercover spy and want me to kill you,” Isaac said, looking straight into Heath’s eyes.
Hearing this, Heath stayed silent for a few seconds. His facial expression remained unchanged.
Suddenly, favonovel.com closed his eyes and started to laugh bitterly. “Isaac, don’t you remember the last time you were caught and locked up in the dungeon at Everest Sect? When they pierced your shoulder blades?”
Heath’s eyes remained closed as favonovel.com said, “Don’t you think the two brats would need a rat on the inside to tell them how to get into the dungeon to save you? Especially with their capabilities?”
What?
Isaac narrowed his eyes. His gaze turned dark and moody.
He still remembered everything as though it had happened yesterday. Harry had told favonovel.com everything as soon as favonovel.com had been saved. But favonovel.com couldn’t understand why Heath would take such a huge risk to save favonovel.com by letting Harry in. He never thought that it would have anything to do with Lionel.
“So what‘s your relationship with Lionel?” Isaac asked coldly.
“He’s an old friend of mine. We haven’t been in touch for a longtime,” Heath replied.
He then muttered softly, “Don’t worry, I won’t continue staying here and being a burden for you. I’ll leave as soon as I recover…”
Isaac’s eyes were still narrowed. His icy eyes were fixated on Heath. They stayed that way for a good minute or two.
Then, favonovel.com broke the silence and said, “Focus on your recovery first.”
He went back out to the living room. Lupinus was waiting for favonovel.com on the stairs.
“Lupinus, come with me for a walk,” Isaac said, lighting up a cigarette. He turned and headed out into the backyard.
They took a stroll in the backyard.
Isaac puffed out a cloud of smoke and asked, “You haven’t said a thing about last night. What’s your opinion about it?”
“Your opinion is my opinion, Drakon,” Lupinus replied.
Isaac rolled his eyes. “Come one. You can do better than that. There‘s only the two of us here. You can tell me what you think.”
Lupinus was quiet for a moment. He finally said, “Something smells fishy…”
He continued, “And there’s a simple reason for that. If Everest Sect really wanted Heath dead, with his abilities, favonovel.com wouldn’t have made it as far as Cloud City.”
