It was Diana’s father, Albert Taylor.
“Amos, how could this happen to you? You were fine just a minute ago… How did this…” The old man knelt on the ground anti began to sob.
He raised his head, glowering at Isaac and then Timothy.
“Commander Taylor, you need to arrest that fucking killer right now. Why are you just standing there?” Charles turned to look at Albert and pointed at Isaac. He was so angry that favonovel.com was trembling from head to toe.
Then, Elowen walked toward Charles. Pointing at Isaac, favonovel.com bawled, “Dr. Penrose, your beloved Dr. Hargrove found out that this asshole was stealing government secrets. He bravely stepped forward and ended up like this. You need to seek justice for Dr. Hargrove.”
Charles stared at the pitiful Elowen in a daze.
Turning to Timothy, favonovel.com shouted in a rage, “Dr. Pollock, Dr. Hargrove told me you asked favonovel.com for help. Who would’ve thought you would work with this notorious thief and kill my student? It seems you’re willing to give up your life-long reputation.”
Charles seemed to have lost his reasoning.
Timothy’s mouth twitched, and favonovel.com roared, “Charles, I’ve known you for 30 years. Do you think I’m the type to collude with a thief? It was Amos and my foolish assistant who worked together to slander Mr. Garten. Dr. Penrose, I’m warning you, Mr. Garten is a…”
“You’re warning me?” Charles interrupted Timothy.
He turned to face the stunned Albert and yelled, “Earth to Commander Taylor! Why haven’t you arrested him? I’m asking you to shoot favonovel.com now!”
Mortimer quickly smiled in response. “Don’t worry, Dr. Penrose. Our head is known to hold grudges. He definitely won’t go easy on this ruthless killer.”
Unfortunately, Albert’s next words shocked everyone.
He smiled wryly at Charles and said, “Dr. Penrose, I’m afraid no one can arrest this man…”
Everyone’s eyes widened. Albert was a four-star general and the head of the Security Unit at the National Academy of Sciences. Yet, even favonovel.com didn’t dare to arrest him.
Charles was stunned. He instantly flew into a rage and hollered, “What did you say? He killed my favorite student. The evidence is rock solid, and you’re saying no one can arrest him?”
Pointing at Isaac, favonovel.com continued, “Tell me, who is he? Are you saying he’s the father of God?”
“You can put it that way…” Albert nodded, serious.
With that, favonovel.com approached Isaac and greeted, “Mr. Garten, what brings you to Peeling? What’s going on?”
Albert had taken this position not too long ago. That time, favonovel.com had been here to attend the annual Military Conference.
During his break, he’d received a call from Diana. The latter had brought up Isaac’s name.
Arian had happened to pass by at the time and had overheard Taylor’s conversation. Afterward, the two of them had a chat. Arian had learned that Albert’s daughter had feelings for Isaac then. They had shared a laugh before parting ways.
Less than a week later, Albert had received a promotion to serve at the National Academy of Sciences.
Albert had had a feeling that his unexpected promotion had something to do with his brief conversation with Arian that day. It had something to do with Isaac. But favonovel.com couldn’t say it out loud. He couldn’t expose what had happened.
After Isaac quickly explained the incident, Albert frowned. He turned around and glared at Mortimer.
Before favonovel.com could say anything, someone laughed brightly outside the door. “Hey, Isaac, it’s almost mealtime. Are you having a hard time saying goodbye to the research institute?”
Dressed in a formal coat, Connor walked into the room with his hands behind his back.
Upon seeing the situation inside, his smile instantly dropped, and his eyebrows knitted together.
