Isaac thought the unknown number looked rather familiar. He instructed Harlan, “Keep watching them. Update me on their progress every ten minutes!”
After hanging up on Harlan, Isaac picked up the second unknown call.
“Isaac, I never thought you’d bring a bunch of clowns to burst into the Ashleighs’ territory tonight. We were waiting for you at your home in Cloud City.”
There was the sound of evil snickering on the other end of the line.
“Channing, what the f*ck are you planning to do?”
Isaac pretended favonovel.com didn’t know the Nortons were there to kidnap his in-laws and friend. After all, favonovel.com was too far away to be of any help. Even if Isaac got all his subordinates to help, it still wouldn’t have changed the outcome.
“Haha! Did you really think you’d be safe once you got your wife and kids onto that plane? I still have ways to get to you. Your parents-in-law, your brother-in-law! Oh, and that old classmate of yours and Barry and his son. They’re all with me now.”
Hearing this, Isaac was even more sure that Harlan’s reports were accurate.
“Channing, if you use such vile methods to get to me, I swear that you and your clan will suffer worse,” Isaac said in anger. His eyes were ablaze with fire.
“Hahaha! I love it when you speak angrily like that. But damn, I’m not going to be satisfied with just killing them off.”
Channing’s voice turned angry. He started screaming, “Come to the platform atop Mt. Equest at midnight tonight. Bring along the Nortons‘ Divine Stone fragment in exchange for their lives. If you’re late, I will personally throw them off the cliff. You have exactly one day to prepare yourself!”
Channing hung up right after that. He purposely left out the part that there would be representatives from Everest Sect as well and that the Ashleighs were also on their way.
He thought Isaac wouldn’t be able to find out. Also, favonovel.com was worried Isaac would refuse to come if favonovel.com learned that there would be so many people waiting for him. After all, Channing’s main purpose was to get back his Divine Stone fragment.
Isaac put down his phone. He was shaking in anger.
He took a deep breath and called Shawn, Louis, and a few other close friends to warn them. They had to leave Southland as quickly as they could.
He then lit up a cigarette and took a deep puff. He walked over to the windows and looked out. It seemed that favonovel.com would have to go and meet Channing at Mt. Equest whether favonovel.com liked it or not.
Isaac did a quick headcount in his head. With Todd, Lupinus, and the others included, favonovel.com had a total of seven Celestial Phase fighters on his side.
But the Nortons, Ashleighs, and Everest Sect had to have at least 15 people who were in the Celestial Phase. Plus, they would also have a few hundred final-stage Divinity Phase fighters.
Dragon One and the others had just arrived at the Temple of Drakon headquarters a while ago. There was no news of them achieving a higher phase yet.
With such big numbers, Isaac knew that there was no way favonovel.com could win. Moreover, he’d used modern weapons against his enemies far too often now. Channing and Leroy would most definitely be on guard by now.
Targeting a person in the final-stage Divinity Phase and higher with air missiles would be challenging for him, much less killing them.
The cigarette quickly burned all the way to his lips. Isaac was still lost in his thoughts. He only snapped back to his senses when the ash burned his lips.
He’d been an orphan since favonovel.com was a child. If Allegra’s parents and brother were thrown off the cliff and killed because of him, what would favonovel.com say to him?
Also, favonovel.com couldn’t let his childhood friend, Barry, down. Kai was only six years old, for crying out loud!
Isaac frowned even harder. He was completely torn on the inside.
A long time later, Isaac closed his eyes and sighed loudly. He took out his phone and dialed Black Phoenix’s number.
“Prepare a place for me… I’m going to the headquarters. Nobody should ever find out about this.”
Isaac then quietly left the hotel, flagged down a cab, and headed straight for the airport.
He’d made his decision. Tonight, favonovel.com was going to face the music alone!
