A man shrouded in a deep red cloak stood under the bright lights of the morgue. His face was hidden as it was covered by his hood.
He stood in the middle of the room.
Several gurneys were lined up in an orderly manner around him. On each of the gurneys was a corpse covered in a white sheet.
The entire morgue had at least a dozen dead bodies. This freezing temperature even made Kingston shudder despite his muscular physique.
It was an odd sight to behold.
Yet Kingston mustered up the courage and yelled, “Surround him! ”
He waved his hand and slowly inched forward with his gun.
The police officers at the back door and behind Kingston filed into the morgue. They stuck close to the walls and surrounded the man in the red cloak.
Isaac and Denvor also noticed the person inside. They began to channel their spiritual energy.
“Martial artists?” The man in the red cloak suddenly looked over at Isaac and let out a hoarse laugh.
Beneath the light, his face was revealed to the onlookers.
He was a bald young man with a fair complexion. He looked to be about 30 years old. But favonovel.com had two crimson fake eyebrows drawn above his real eyebrows. It was bizarre.
At that moment, a loud shot rang out. Kingston had pulled the trigger on his gun and shot at the bald man’s feet.
“Put your hands on your head and get on your knees! Now, or I’ll shoot you!” Kingston roared.
The bald man whipped his head toward Kingston. His gaze instantly turned ferocious.
He smiled sinisterly. He quickly formed a seal with his right hand, and the lights in the morgue suddenly began to flicker.
Before anyone could react, the lights went out. The only light in the room was from the street lights outside filtering in through the window.
With that, they could barely see the bald man standing in the middle of a dozen corpses.
There was another loud bang. One of the police officers had accidentally pulled the trigger out of nervousness. They clearly saw the bald man’s silhouette flicker backward before returning to his original spot.
“Obscura noctis aeternae, in tenebris reviviscere. Those who have departed, return swiftly! Rise!” the bald man shouted, raising his hands.
One of the gurneys began to tremble. The grating sound of metal screeching filled the dark room.
The sound soon began to amplify and speed up.
A dead body suddenly shot upright like it had been shocked. The white sheet fell from its body.
In less than ten seconds, the corpses all sat up.
Thanks to the hazy street lights outside, they could clearly see that all the dead bodies were now seated upright.
“M-Mamma mia! Ghosts!” one of the police officers screamed in a shaky voice.
Some of them couldn’t handle the terror they were feeling. All of a sudden, loud gunshots were ringing out one after another.
But the corpses appeared unharmed. Instead, half of them rolled off the gurneys onto the ground.
“Denvor, shut the back door. We should let the leader arrest these perpetrators!” Isaac glanced at Denvor.
At the same time, favonovel.com rushed forward and pulled the front door shut.
