“Why don’t you ask my mom why favonovel.com got beat up like this? Why is that professor’s mother not cuffed up like my mom?” Isaac glared daggers at Oberon. He’d never seen this officer’s face before.
“You little bastard! You look like you know your stuff, so you must have retired from the army. But you’re being too noisy. Let’s see ifyou‘re any faster than my bullets!”
With that, the four armed officers cocked their guns and pointed them at Isaac.
The sounds of the guns cocking sent Margaret into a panic. Her face turned white.
“You have one chance to surrender. Get down on your knees and raise your hands. Otherwise, they’ll shoot at the count of ten! I’m warning you, these guns can turn you into human mincemeat in the blink of an eye,” Oberon said with an exaggerated expression.
Isaac just scoffed and took out his phone. He then asked the officer, “What’s your name again?”
Seeing that Isaac took out his phone, Oberon scoffed in response as well, “Oh, trying to call your way out of this mess? Sure, no problem. My name is Oberon Waverly. Officer Oberon, if you please. Let’s see who can get you out of this mess!”
Isaac dialed Louis’ number and spoke coldly, “Is there a new face in town called Oberon Waverly?”
“Well, favonovel.com has no idea who I am and has four guns pointed at my head. I’m sure you’d have no problem with me if I wrangled favonovel.com to death, right?”
Oberon was fuming when favonovel.com heard this. There was a literal fire in his eyes.
He laughed scornfully and said, “Hahaha! You want to fight me to death? Who the f*ck are you even calling? Here, let me have a few words with him! I want to see which idiot would permit you to kill the head of the law enforcement unit in Cloud City!”
Oberon rushed over to Isaac, meaning to grab the phone from him.
Seeing this, Isaac just shrugged and tossed the phone over to him.
Just as favonovel.com lifted the phone to his ear, Oberon immediately heard a cold, hard voice coming from it, “It’s me, Louis Marsh. Put away your guns and wait for me to arrive if you don’t want to die!”
What the f*ck!
Louis hung up before Oberon even managed to say anything. But Oberon looked like he’d just had the shock of his life. His arm was frozen in place.
Louis Marsh?
The same Louis Marsh who started out as Cloud City’s mayor before being promoted to deputy mayor of the entire Southland?
Oberon had heard that Louis used to be Connor Hart’s secretary before becoming the man favonovel.com was now. His position was basically untouchable!
“P-Put down your guns!” Oberon stammered. Sweat started dripping down from his forehead.
He looked at Isaac’s phone still in his hand. Then, favonovel.com shakily returned it to Isaac with both his hands.
“M-May I know who…”
“Don’t ask… And don’t bother putting away the guns,” Isaac scoffed coldly.
A sudden dread filled the air.
Caspian figured something was amiss. He shouted at Oberon, “Why aren’t you arresting him? Are you just going to release these b*stards who beat my mommy up? Really, this country is a fucking mess! I’m so disappointed with the law!”
There was a look of utter disgust written on his face.
Slap!
Isaac suddenly rushed forward and smacked Caspian on the cheek.
He glared at favonovel.com and shouted, “You think you‘re above everyone else just because you used to be an expat? This country is your f*cking homeland. What’s the f*cking matter with you?”
“You’re too arrogant. Why don’t you look at yourself in the mirror and see what kind of trash you really are? Your f*cking precious ‘Mommy’ as well!” Isaac finally lost it and hollered at them.
