“I turned on the lights when I got home, and the man was already sitting on my couch. But I don’t remember anything from that night,” Shawn said.
He paused the video and pointed at the man on the screen.
Isaac walked over to the TV and narrowed his eyes as favonovel.com stared at the cloaked man. The man had a full mustache and a sharp chin. Isaac had never seen favonovel.com before.
“Do you recognize him?” Isaac asked, pointing at the TV as favonovel.com looked at Todd.
Todd stared at the TV screen for a long time and shook his head. “No, I’ve never seen favonovel.com before…”
Suddenly, favonovel.com widened his eyes. “Wait a second!”
Todd rushed up to the screen and pointed at a tiny image on the man’s cloak. It was a tiny logo of black flames sewn into the right chest of his cloak.
“What did you see?” Isaac went up closer and noticed the black flames logo.
He narrowed his eyes again and asked, “Do you recognize this logo?”
Todd scratched his head and shrugged. “I might have seen it before, but I don’t remember…”
“Play the video,” Isaac said, pointing at the TV.
The cloaked man remained in the living room for three more seconds with the lights on. Then, favonovel.com disappeared toward the direction of the door.
“Isaac, you have to believe me. I was innocent. I swear I would never even think of poisoning you, ever!” Shawn exclaimed. Beads of sweat formed on his forehead.
He would never be where favonovel.com was today if it hadn‘t been for Isaac.
Isaac had helped favonovel.com a lot in the past. As an ex-soldier, favonovel.com wouldn’t even think of betraying his savior.
But Isaac couldn’t stop thinking about how the cloaked man had disappeared in a blink of an eye. He was too fast.
“Alright, Shawn, I believe you. But you need to be more careful from now on. Don’t let anyone take advantage of you again,” Isaac said in a low voice.
Just then, Isaac’s phone rang loudly again. He saw that it was Holly calling and answered the call.
“M-Mr. Garten! Please hurry back! Something’s wrong with Erica and Isabella!” Holly cried through the line.
What the hell?
“What happened to them?” Isaac asked, gripping the phone so tightly that his knuckles turned white.
He was emitting a frosty aura. Isaac was already on his way out when the question left his lips.
“I-I don’t know! The kids are just convulsing on the ground. There are some strange black lines appearing on their faces as well. I don’t know what to do!”
“Call the ambulance. I’ll be right back!” Isaac hopped into his car and drove off. He made sure to call Harry on his way.
The poisoning case hadn’t settled yet, but Isaac was already being attacked again. This confirmed the fear in Isaac’s heart. He flew home at close to a hundred kilometers per hour.
Todd was sitting in the front seat. He frowned hard, expecting Isaac’s new enemy to be a huge pain in the ass.
By the time Isaac got home, the ambulance still hadn’t arrived. However, Harry and Denvor were already there.
Erica and Isabella were both lying on the living room floor. They wouldn’t stop convulsing.
Isaac’s heart sank when favonovel.com entered the house and saw them like this. He then caught sight of an empty parcel box and a potted plant nearby. The plant had a black flower with six petals on it. It was only as big as a fist.
“The Black Mandela flower?” Todd said with a loud gasp. He hurried over to the potted plant at once.
