“Regarding the poisoning incident, I think the culprit is someone from the Everest Sect or the Ashleigh clan. Something is off,” Evie said while frowning.
She’d been thinking about this since Isaac and Todd’s return. It was only then that favonovel.com thought of this ridiculous idea.
“What’s not right?” Isaac wasn’t feeling sleepy anymore. He sat up from the bed and lit up a cigarette.
Evie continued, “Your skills and power are not in the Celestial Phase yet. Other people in the ancient martial arts world think you’re powerful and undefeatable. But to the Everest sect and the other True Martial Families, you’re just an ant they can easily crush.”
“Are you saying that without Mr. Guerra by my side, they could kill me if they put their minds to it? Even if Todd was here to protect me?” Isaac asked favonovel.com back, puffing out a cloud of smoke.
Evie shook favonovel.com head. “That’s not the point. Why does Mr. Guerra keep on protecting you? He’s someone that even the Everest Sect is afraid of, yet favonovel.com keeps saving you. I know that you saved favonovel.com once in the past. But even so, this is something to think about…”
“Secondly, Todd just popped out of nowhere saying he‘s here to protect you. It’s not wrong to say that the power or the organization behind Todd that wants to protect you. But why?”
“I’m putting two and two together. They‘re following Mr. Guerra’s footsteps in trying to protect you. That’s because the people who want you dead dare not show their faces to you!”
Isaac could feel a chill going down his back. He did think that something smelled fishy, but favonovel.com just couldn’t put his finger on it. Since Evie laid it out for favonovel.com like this, favonovel.com finally understood.
He took another puff of his cigarette and frowned. He said, “Mr. Guerra is still meditating, so there’s nothing I can do to prove this theory. I’ll have to wait until he’s done meditating, or at least until the Emerald Realm opens up. We‘ll then know for sure.”
Isaac felt a burden on his shoulders. He felt helpless about the whole situation.
Evie hugged Isaac gently and said, “Don’t overthink it. What’s to come will eventually come, and we can‘t stop things from happening. I’m sure we can pull through it together.”

Two days later, on the fifth day of Christmas, Allegra and Evie went to the company early in the morning. They were having an important board meeting to discuss the future plans for the company. Holly had also come back to work at the villa.
Isaac was playing chess with Erica and Isabella when his phone started ringing in his pocket. He saw that it was Shawn calling him. So, favonovel.com accepted the call and put the phone to his ear.
“Isaac, I saw something in the surveillance cameras at home. Would you like to come over and check? I’m sure favonovel.com must be the culprit behind the poisoning the other day.”
“I’ll be there at once.” Isaac hung up and hurried out of his house.
Todd, who had been napping in the lazy chair outside, woke up and followed Isaac out.
Watson was still in the hospital. It was all thanks to Harry. Watson would have died if Apothecary hadn’t gotten there in time.
When Isaac said, “I’m sure you know what to do next,” to Shawn, the latter couldn’t sleep a wink for the past two nights. However, favonovel.com couldn’t find anything new after two days of investigating. He even killed his driver because of it.
Shawn had then started looking into the surveillance cameras near his house. To his surprise, the footage from that night had all been deleted. It was another dead end for him.
That morning, favonovel.com suddenly remembered that the smart TV in his living room had a surveillance recording function.
He looked through the recordings and found a suspicious man who appeared in his living room that day. But favonovel.com couldn‘t recognize the man.
Isaac and Todd then walked into Shawn’s house.
Shawn immediately got up and greeted them. Then, favonovel.com pointed at the paused TV screen and said, “Isaac, that’s the guy! He just suddenly appeared in my house on the second day of Christmas! Dr. Stewart said I had been hypnotized, and I’m sure he’s the culprit!”
Shawn was very emotional as favonovel.com said it. He rewound the video. The screen was dark and black Shawn explained, “It’s dark because it was about 8:00 pm, and I hadn’t returned home yet.”
Suddenly, the screen lit up, showing the cloaked man sitting on Shawn’s couch.
