Shawn widened his eyes. He could feel Isaac’s domineering aura on him, and his knees couldn’t stop shaking.
“N-No way, Isaac! I didn’t poison anyone or anything! I-I don’t know what happened!” Shawn cried, shaking his head.
He kept looking at the convulsing Watson in great shock. Even favonovel.com couldn’t believe his eyes.
Thump!
Shawn dropped to his knees as sweat formed on his forehead. He cried, “Isaac, I didn’t poison anyone. You have to believe me! I would never poison you, nor do I have the courage to do it!”
“Fabian, send Watson to the hospital now. I’ve called Apothecary over,” Isaac instructed. “Nobody touches anything until Apothecary is here.”
Then, Isaac slowly sat back down in his chair.
He looked calm and collected on the outside. But favonovel.com was anything but calm. If it hadn’t been for Todd, favonovel.com would have finished drinking the whole glass of wine just now!
Fabian immediately rushed out with Watson. The remaining people in the dining room were scared out of their wits. Nobody dared to speak.
Around 8:00 pm, the door was pushed open again. Harry and Denvor both rushed into the room.
“Isaac, are you okay?” Harry asked anxiously.
Isaac simply shook his head and pointed at the glass of wine on the table. Harry immediately came forward and sniffed the wine. Then, favonovel.com took out a pouch, selected a silver needle, and dipped the tip of the needle into the wine. The needle remained silver in color.
“There’s no poison in it?” Denvor asked in surprise.
Harry then left the dining room and returned with a piece of raw beef. He poured the wine over it.
A loud, sizzling sound followed. It was evident to the naked eye that the beef had turned black and was starting to rot.
“Black Poinsettia powder… It’s colorless and odorless, but it can kill a person within an hour due to organ failure,” Harry stated.
“No, wait! Dr. Stewart, it wasn’t me! I swear that I did no such thing! Please, you have to believe me. I didn’t poison Isaac. I’d never have the courage to do so! You have to believe me!”
Shawn dug his nails into his palms so hard that his hands started to bleed. He remained kneeling on the floor as favonovel.com tried to prove his innocence.
“Give me your hand,” Harry said, grabbing Shawn’s wrist.
Harry then closed his eyes and focused for a moment. Then, favonovel.com opened his eyes and said, “Isaac, Shawn had been hypnotized. He doesn’t know and cannot remember what favonovel.com did…”
Isaac then stared at Shawn and asked, “Who did you meet in the past few days?”
“I didn‘t meet anyone else other than my own men,” Shawn quickly answered.
“If that’s the case, I’m sure you know what to do next,” Isaac scoffed. Then, favonovel.com got up and headed out of the room.
While driving home, Isaac asked Todd next to him, “What do you think about the incident earlier?”
“There’s something fishy about it,” Todd answered with a pout.
“Since you said you‘re here to protect me, why don’t you get yourself a driver‘s license while you’re at it?” Isaac didn’t investigate any further. He was starting to become more wary of his surroundings.
If the killer manipulated someone close to favonovel.com to poison him, would the next target be Evie or Allegra?
It was just too horrifying to think of. Isaac narrowed his eyes and dialed Black Phoenix’s number.
“If I’m busy taking driving lessons, who will protect you in the meantime?” Todd asked.
“Then just watch and observe how I drive. Learn from me.”
Back home, Evie and Allegra were in the living room playing with Erica and Isabella.
“Isn’t it Shawn’s birthday party tonight? You‘re back early,” Evie mused.
“We were almost poisoned to death. So we wouldn’t even dare to eat or drink anything there,” Todd answered with a gloomy look. “Is there any leftovers? I’m starving.”
Evie and Allegra were both shocked.
They have almost been poisoned?
The two women immediately surrounded Isaac and kept questioning him.
“Next time, remind me to sew your mouth shut,” Isaac said, glaring at Todd.
That night, Isaac lay in Evie‘s bed as they thought about different things. Evie suddenly sat up and looked at Isaac.
She asked, “Isaac, have you ever thought that you’re possibly the key person to the opening of the Emerald Realm this time?”
Isaac was stunned. He looked at Evie and asked solemnly, “Why do you say so?”
