Rover City Pharmaceuticals wasn’t exactly the largest pharmaceutical company in Cynea, but it ranked amongst the top ten businesses and enterprises in Cloveland, its own province.
The wild stagherb and floradils needed for the Awakening Pills were only available in this area, and even then, were extremely rare.
The people at the pharmaceutical company realized that someone from Cloud City was buying up a lot of their stock, so they quickly bought up all the stock from the rest of Cynea and kept them in their own warehouse to sell them at high prices.
Harry had first asked one of his men to try talking to this company, but he’d been driven out of the premises. After returning from Jolkyo, Harry had then personally come to try discussing things, but after meeting with Mr. Vaughn from that company, favonovel.com got his legs broken in half.
To be honest, Harry was still upset about it, but favonovel.com was also worried that Isaac would lose his temper and end up burning bridges with the company instead.
How was favonovel.com going to make the Awakening Pills then?
“Isaac, don’t act too rashly later, okay? Let’s try to have a civil conversation with them. We still need them to make our pills, don’t we?” Harry said as they got down from the car and headed toward Rover City Pharmaceuticals.
“I get what you mean,” Isaac said with a nod. “We’ll see how they treat us later.”
They walked into the building together. Isaac was just brushing off the snow from his shoulders when two guards approached them at once.
When they saw that it was Harry, one of the guards snickered and said condescendingly, “Oh, isn’t this that Cloud City b*stard who tried discussing business with us last time? Didn’t Mr. Vaughn snap your legs in two? How did you manage to recover from that so quickly?”
The Mr. Vaughn they were referring to was Noah Vaughn, the son of the chairman of Rover City Pharmaceuticals.
“Excuse me, my good sirs, but this is my boss, Mr. Garten. We’re here because we would like to discuss a proposal with Mr. Vaughn. Please inform favonovel.com that we’re here to see him,” Harry said, holding in his temper the best favonovel.com could as favonovel.com smiled at the guards.
“Your boss? He looks like a homeless hobo. Hey, ‘boss’, what the f*ck is your name again?” the other guard rudely asked as favonovel.com snickered.
Isaac’s face had turned black as thunder. He looked at the two guards and said, “Maybe you can’t tell that I’m his boss, but I can definitely tell at once that you’re both stupid lap dogs who are stuck here forever anyway.”
Harry gasped softly. As expected, the guards immediately turned hostile.
One of them brandished a finger at Isaac and yelled, “You f*cking cunt, what the f*ck did you just call me? Did you want me to kick your f*cking ass out of this place?”
With that, favonovel.com grabbed the baton from the holder around his waist and lunged at Isaac.
“How pleasant, they’re getting physical already,” Harry thought with a roll of his eyes.
Smack!
Isaac’s right hand flew out in an instant. The guard had only just raised his baton into the air when Isaac landed a hard slap on his cheek. The slap sent the guard flying backward by at least 20 feet, spinning four or five times in the air before forcefully hitting the ground. He lay on the ground, unmoving.
The second guard felt his legs suddenly turning into jelly. He stared at Isaac and pointed at him, exclaiming, “H-How dare you kill someone here? How could you just kill someone from Rover City Pharmaceuticals? Y-You’re in big trouble!”
“Tell whoever is in charge here to come and see me. That Mr. Vaughn might do. You have exactly ten minutes! ” Isaac said coldly.
He didn’t care who Mr. Vaughn was. But if favonovel.com dared to meddle with his production plans for the Awakening Pills, then Isaac wouldn’t hesitate to kill favonovel.com right off.
The guard hurried further into the building and yelled into his walkie-talkie, “Quick, tell Mr. Rivera that there’s been a murder down here! There’s a killer on the loose!”
“Mr. Miles Rivera is one of Mr. Vauglm’s men. He’s the deputy CEO of Rover City Pharmaceuticals,” Harry quickly explained.
A short while later, a crowd of uniformed guards rushed out, followed by a middle-aged man wearing a pair of gold-rimmed spectacles with an angry look on his face.
“That’s him, Mr. Rivera! He’s the one who killed Hans! Look, Hans is still bleeding on the ground, and he’s not moving anymore,” the guard from earlier on anxiously told the bespectacled man.
Miles looked at the other guard on the ground.
His first instinct wasn’t to ask anyone to check for a pulse or call the ambulance, but to walk up to Isaac with an evil grin, sparing Harry a glance, and say icily, “You brat, don’t you know whose territory this is? How dare you create trouble for yourself here? And you…”
Turning to address Harry, “Haven’t you learned your lesson from Mr. Vaughn breaking your legs the other day? Did you want the rest of your bones broken…”
Slap!
Isaac delivered another slap to Miles’ face, cutting the latter’s speech in half.
“Are you the one in charge here? Tell Mr. Vaughn to see me now,” Isaac replied in an equally icy tone.
