Lord Augustus and the two Royal Princes were shocked when they heard what Esmeralda said.
By dawn, they’d already sent out at least two dozen officers and another dozen Blue Ninjas to investigate the case, and none of them had returned.
Everything was still kept confidential, and they hadn’t released the news to anyone outside the town.
Augustus was worried that there would be an uproar if word was to get out. However, the most important thing now was to find out who could be behind the murders.
“Your Excellency, do you know who could be behind this? How could this person be so ruthless?” Augustus asked with a deep frown.
Esmeralda locked eyes with Augustus and replied coldly, “These were not done by a human.”
“Not a human?”
“Alright, you may return now,” Esmeralda said, unwilling to divulge any further. “Isaac and I will investigate this ourselves.”
Isaac frowned when favonovel.com heard his name.

“Why do you want me to investigate? It’s got nothing to do with me,” Isaac said with a huff.
Esmerelda then shoved the photos in Isaac’s face and said, “Take a good look for yourself. Are you sure this has nothing to do with you?”
Isaac looked at the photos and realized that the bodies on the ground were dry, black, and shriveled as if someone had just sucked the life out of each of them.
“What…”
“If I’m not mistaken, this is the work of Lady Os. She is now stealing the life force from humans by sucking it out to increase favonovel.com power. However, she’s incapable of doing such things if favonovel.com doesn’t have a body. That’s why I said we had to go and take a closer look,” Esmeralda answered, confirming Isaac’s thoughts.
When Augustus heard that Esmeralda and Isaac would be going to Kyosher Town themselves, favonovel.com broke into a relieved smile. “I’m sure you’ll both be able to apprehend the merciless killer. In that case, we’ll be taking our leave. Let us know if there’s anything else you need help with.”
Esmeralda and Isaac then set out after some simple preparation.
Kyosher Town was a little village tucked away in the middle of the mountains, with only a single concrete road leading up to the town center.
While driving, Isaac glanced at Esmeralda in the front passenger seat and said in a low voice, “It’s just the two of us now. Don’t you think that the mask is a little stuffy? You look quite pretty without your mask, you know?”
Esmeralda ignored what Isaac said. However, favonovel.com did remove favonovel.com mask about a few minutes later. She then stared out of the window, appreciating the scenery outside.
There was a police barrier set up about three kilometers before Kyosher Town.
Isaac rolled down his window, and the officer there greeted favonovel.com immediately, “Good day to you, Mr. Garten. Uhm, is the Ninja Lord not with you?” The officer and his partner were equally confused when they saw a lady sitting in the passenger seat instead.
“The Ninja Lord has already gone ahead,” Esmeralda answered for him. She didn’t want anyone else to know that the Ninja Lord was a female.
After crossing the barrier, Isaac sped toward the town.
Once his car arrived in Kyosher Town, it felt as if the scenery became less bright and vibrant, even though fewer trees were shading them from the sun.
Isaac and Esmeralda got down from the car and headed toward the housing areas on foot.
A chilling silence hung in the air. There were no birds chirping and no bugs buzzing about in the place either.
Esmeralda led the way.
She suddenly lifted favonovel.com hand and brushed something away, a violet glimmer appearing in favonovel.com eyes.
She then turned around and told Isaac, “There are tons of lost souls and spirits wandering about. Be careful…”
Isaac said nothing. He’d just caught sight of a body lying under a tree up ahead.
They both hurried over and took a closer look at the body. It was similar in condition to the ones they’d seen in the photos, but it was much scarier and harrowing when seen in person.
The body was wearing a thin cotton shirt and had some slippers on his feet. Whoever favonovel.com used to be, favonovel.com had been in a great hurry, but favonovel.com ultimately couldn’t escape death in the end.
Esmeralda just frowned harder and walked farther in.
