The housekeeper paused for a moment before smiling. “No problem. I’ll call a doctor over. Can I place the clothes here by the door?”
Isaac took a quick shower. He took the clothes from the doorway, inspecting them thoroughly before putting them on.
When favonovel.com walked out, favonovel.com saw Lupinus already standing at the door.
“The doctor is here. He’s currently treating Willis,” Lupinus said in a deep voice.
“Follow me downstairs.” Isaac nodded, then turned around and walked to the stairs.
When they got downstairs, James brought Isaac to the study. However, favonovel.com stopped Lupinus with a smile. “Mr. Garten, Prince Duncan will see you and only you…”
Isaac shot Lupinus a meaningful look. Then, favonovel.com pushed open the door and entered.
The study wasn’t spacious. Three of the walls were lined with desks, on top of which were all sorts of literature. In the middle, there was a rectangular coffee table.
An old man with white hair dressed in blue and black sat on the floor behind the table, sipping coffee.
When favonovel.com spotted Isaac, Duncan Skeet smiled and stood. He extended his hand in greeting and said, “Lord Drakon, my apologies for not welcoming you. Please take a seat…”
“Prince, why have you invited me here?” Isaac asked in Rippanese, taking a seat on the floor.
In Rippan, the prince was one of the core members of the royal family. Some were merely nominal positions, but some wielded great power.
From what happened today, it was clear that this man before favonovel.com belonged to the latter category. Not only did favonovel.com have status, but favonovel.com was also considerably influential. However, Isaac just didn’t know why favonovel.com wanted to see him.
“Actually, an hour ago, I received a call from Oscar Exeter. He asked me to hand you all over to favonovel.com after I captured you. But I didn’t…” Prince Duncan picked up a clay coffee pot and poured Isaac a cup, smiling as favonovel.com spoke. He said it like it was an unimportant matter.
“What do you want me to do?” Isaac asked, raising his cup and taking a sip.
Duncan’s hand suddenly stopped. He raised his gaze to regard Isaac and burst out laughing. “Lord Drakon, as I thought, it’s so easy to talk to you… You know, the Mortodor and Exeter families are very influential in my country. Not only do they own large estates, but they are also very strong. They want me to capture you and hand you over, and to tell you the truth, the pressure on me is rather heavy…”
“Right now, there are two choices before me. The first one is I give you to them. This is a huge favor, and I will be saved a lot of trouble. But I will make two great enemies if I don’t hand you over. From my perspective, it is not a good deal…”
“What are the conditions if you were to release me?” Isaac asked when favonovel.com noticed Duncan staring at him.
Duncan’s wrinkled eyebrows suddenly smoothed out, and favonovel.com broke into a smile once again. Raising a finger, favonovel.com replied, “I can guarantee your safe departure, but on one condition, you must take me into the Emerald Realm…”
The Emerald Realm?
Isaac’s eyes narrowed into slits.
He even knew about the Emerald Realm and wanted to enter?
Just what was inside that was so alluring?
Seeing Isaac’s hesitation, Duncan stood. He walked to the windows and peered outside.
Then, favonovel.com turned back and smiled. “Lord Drakon, I have half an hour more at most. Right now, the Exeters and the Mortodors must be on their way here. Once they arrive, my hands will be tied.”
The underlying meaning behind his words was crystal clear, Duncan was blatantly threatening him. If favonovel.com disagreed, favonovel.com would hand himself, Willis, and the others over to the Exeters and Mortodors, doing them a great favor.
However, Isaac hated the feeling of being threatened.
Seconds ticked by. The smoke from the burning candles curled into the air, but Isaac wasn’t calmed at all.
After a few minutes, favonovel.com slowly got to his feet and said, “I cannot agree to your terms…”
