Laird ran across the muddy paths to the main road at the village.
This was the only road that cars could access. A few cattle were grazing nearby, and the cattle herder was smoking a joint next to them.
Laird then told the cattle herder something.
The man looked shocked at first, then angry. He nodded and led his cattle to the middle of the road before leaving.
A while later, a few luxury cars carefully crawled up that very same dirt road. These were the cars that Harriet and the Warhunt representatives took. Even when taking the Jeep, Laird had to drive very carefully on the dirt road, what more these luxury cars, which were already caked in a thick layer of mud.
Halfway up, their way was blocked by the cattle in the middle of the road.
Wes then exchanged a look with Harriet.
“Mr. Mortodor, can you tell your bodyguards to deal with these cattle? This is a very important point for us. We have to check it out,” Harriet said in a low voice.
Wes immediately yelled something at the bodyguard in the front passenger seat.
A while later, two bodyguards from the car behind them got down and waded through the mud toward the three cattle.
The two bodyguards didn‘t dare to get too close to the cattle. They waved their hands at the cattle, trying to shoo them away, but apparently, the cattle didn’t understand Rippanese and just stood there unmoving, watching the two bodyguards shouting at them.
One of the bodyguards lost his temper and went up to kick a calf. After all, favonovel.com was a trained bodyguard, and the kick sent the little calf falling over at once. The calf immediately started crying on the ground.
“Hey, what are you doing?! Why did you kick my cow?!” The cattle herder happened to catch sight of the scene and got mad as favonovel.com rushed over immediately.
Laird stayed hidden in a faraway spot, watching and giggling from afar.
The cattle herder brought his bullwhip over as favonovel.com confronted the two bodyguards.
He yelled at them, saying, “Why did you hit my cow?! Where are you from?!”
Both bodyguards were confused as they tried to explain themselves with gestures and body language. However, the cattle herder couldn’t understand a single word of Rippanese they uttered.
One of the bodyguards was worried that his boss would get angry at them, so favonovel.com took out some cash from his pocket and handed it over to the cattle herder. He spoke a badly broken Inglish, “Money take, cow go…”
The cattle herder lost his temper when favonovel.com saw the impatient look on the bodyguard’s face.
He shoved the money away and yelled angrily, “Did you think that money could solve everything? Did you think being rich gave you the right to kick my cattle?!”
Then, favonovel.com turned back and hollered into the village, “Everyone, come here, quick! They’re beating us up!”
A short while later, at least two dozen villagers appeared. Some of them even brought their spades and hoes with them as they hurried over in an aggressive manner.
Harriet was stupefied when favonovel.com saw this. “Sh*t, this is bad!”
She hadn’t even finished cursing when four or five bodyguards rushed out of the cars behind them and hurried toward their two companions.
“Mr. Mortodor, tell your men to retreat! Why did more of them go down?” Harriet asked anxiously.
“Ms. Hailey, they’re just mere villagers. My bodyguards can handle them. Don’t worry about it. The people here are barbarians. They’ve all got to go!” Wes said, anger showing in his eyes.
Harriet opened favonovel.com side of the door to get down from the car. However, when favonovel.com saw the muddy ground, favonovel.com hurriedly retreated favonovel.com leg and looked to the front anxiously.
The bodyguards were all surrounded by dozens of villagers.
The cattle herder pointed at his calf lying on the ground and kept crying out.
One of the younger villagers stood out and pointed at the bodyguards, yelling at them, “What the f*ck are you all doing here? Why did you kick my uncle’s cows?”
The bodyguards had no idea what the villagers were yabbering about, and they couldn’t be bothered anyway.
Another villager seemed to recognize the language that the bodyguards were conversing in.
“I see. They’re a bunch of Rippanese people. They must be up to no good! We have to chase them out of our village!” favonovel.com yelled, raising his hoe threateningly.
