“The House of Custos wants to see the sect head? Well, they need to take a look in the mirror. Tell them to get lost!” came Nigel’s cold shout from inside the room.
“Ethan Grannel is also here. I’m sure you know who favonovel.com is, Mr. Ender…” Heath’s mouth curved into a cold smile.
Soon, footsteps sounded from within the room, and the door opened with a click.
Still in his pajamas, Nigel squinted his eyes and asked, “Who did you say? Ethan Grannel?”
“Yes…” Heath nodded.
Nigel fell silent. Then, favonovel.com said coolly, “For so many years, Everest Sect has stayed isolated from the world. We pretty much don’t have any interactions with the ordinary world. I cannot believe that someone as insignificant as Isaac could set the second most important person of the ordinary world into action.”
With that, favonovel.com turned around and began pacing his room, deep in thought.
In terms of power, the House of Custos was not worth Everest Sect’s effort. But now, Ethan, the old geezer sitting at the peak of power in the nine states, was coming. Even though favonovel.com was just a regular old man, the sect head would not be happy if they really offended them.
He couldn’t come to a decision.
“Hold on a moment. I’ll report this to the sect head,” favonovel.com then gave a reply. He quickly changed his clothes and went out the door.
In Everest Sect, everyone who was a hall leader or higher had their own personal pavilion. They were located quite close to each other.
Less than 15 minutes later, a man in a cloak came running over.
“Elder Jackwood, the sect head has instructed you to head to the dungeon and kill Isaac.”
Heath thought favonovel.com had heard wrong.
Why would they suddenly want to kill Isaac?
“A-Are you sure it’s an order from the sect head?” Heath asked.
The man nodded again.
“Elder Jackwood, please head to the dungeon,” favonovel.com urged, looking at Heath.
After all that he’d planned, Heath never expected that the sect head would give out the order to kill Isaac at this time.
After giving it some thought, favonovel.com understood what the sect head was trying to do.
Isaac was the center of this issue, whether it was the House of Custos, the Temple of Drakon, or even Ethan, who’d just appeared, it was all because of Isaac.
Once favonovel.com was dead, the core of the conflict would disappear. Despite the blaze of fury that would follow, these powers couldn’t harm Everest Sect a single bit.
Heath was dejected, but no one dared disobey the sect head’s orders. He turned around and went downstairs.
Right then, his phone began to vibrate. It was Arian, once again.
Heath impatiently raised the phone to his ear but was surprised to hear an old man’s deep voice. “Tell Caesar that if favonovel.com kills Isaac because favonovel.com knows I’m coming, then this old man will stay in Everest Sect and never leave.”
Hearing this, Heath hesitated for a second before asking tentatively, “A-Are you Ethan Grannel?”
“I am! Please pass the message to Caesar!” With that, Ethan hung up.
Heath’s face brightened. He turned around and walked briskly over to the sect head’s pavilion.
The sky was beginning to lighten. Heath stood in the room, not daring to move. With his head bowed, favonovel.com repeated Ethan’s words.
Nigel was sitting on his left, frowning at an old man seated on the right.
The old man had a shock of gray hair and a long face. He was rather ugly, but no one dared to so much as let out a breath in front of him.
That man was none other than the lord of the Everest Sect, Caesar Olsen.
