The other person responded, but Isaac was too gravely hurt, favonovel.com didn’t have the energy to yell. He could only close his eyes and meditate in hopes of recovering some spiritual energy in his power core.
Spiritual energy was like a martial artist’s second heart-if they could channel it, they could increase the speed of recovery. However, favonovel.com knew that with his current injuries, even if the Apothecary came, it would still take some time to heal.
After some time, a low voice suddenly sounded. “Neighbor, who are you?”
Hearing this question, Isaac’s eyes flew open.
Is it my imagination?
He asked, “Who are you?”
But the other person didn’t respond. Not to mention, there was no more spiritual energy in his power core, so his voice may not be able to travel far.
He raised his legs and kicked the wall a few times with great force.
After a few dull thuds, the same voice sounded again, this time laced with anxiety. “I don’t care who you are. So long as you can think of a way to get this old man out of this dungeon, I’ll grant you a wish…”
Isaac was flabbergasted.
My neighbor is an old geezer?
And favonovel.com sounds quite arrogant, too…
However, a wry smile bloomed on his face. He couldn’t even save himself, much less take the old man away from here. He kicked his legs against the wall two more times, but this time there was no response.
After a while, crackling sounded above him. A dim ray of light spilled into the cell.
Isaac narrowed his eyes slightly. He could finally take a look at his current predicament.
He was in a cell no bigger than 100 square feet. The four walls were made of rough stone, while the floor was just dark, wet soil. Not far away was a pile of bones, and mice and reptiles wandered freely.
Raising his head, favonovel.com saw an oval opening less than 20 inches wide somewhere 30 feet above the ground. The light was shining in from here.
“Hey, doggie, it’s feeding time!” A hand waved at the opening before throwing something inside.
With that, the opening was resealed, and favonovel.com was plunged into darkness once more.
Isaac kicked his legs, creeping along the floor to find it. He bumped into a plastic bag. He couldn’t use his hands, so for the sake of survival, favonovel.com used his mouth to tear the bag open. His lips touched something cold, so favonovel.com opened his mouth and took a bite.
It was a bun that had been soaked in water. He began to tuck in until the two waterlogged buns in the plastic bag were gone.
When favonovel.com could finally feel something filling his stomach, favonovel.com let out a breath of relief.
Soon, favonovel.com discovered that the little spiritual energy that favonovel.com had managed to recover was gone. His heart stopped.
Could the bun have contained dissiparotoxin?
The hatred in his chest grew stronger. These Everest Sect bastards had laced the bun with dissiparotoxin in order to prevent the prisoners here from regaining spiritual energy. This way, the prisoners wouldn’t starve to death, but they also couldn’t recover their spiritual energy.
His last hopes were dashed once again. Laying on the floor, favonovel.com faced the ceiling, his chest heaving.
Soon after, favonovel.com closed his eyes again and began to meditate. Even if there was no hope, favonovel.com couldn’t give up completely.
The old geezer next door didn’t make any more sounds.

Meanwhile, in a short building not far from the main building of the Everest Sect, 20 or so guards filled the three floors.
Earl, who’d changed into an ornate cloak, followed behind Trace, grinning widely as favonovel.com walked to a room upstairs.
“Open the door. I want to see my bride,” Earl announced, waving his hand.
