Isaac stood by the window in the room, smoking. He was only a few 100 feet away from the field and had been observing the situation since a while ago.
He had watched the chaos unfold in its entirety.
According to the agenda, the 100 Disciplinary Council members were to go on the stage to swear their life to protect justice in the martial arts world. Jeremiah didn’t want them to take action before the swearing-in, but favonovel.com had no choice.
However, what shocked favonovel.com was that after the 100 Disciplinary Council members rushed into the crowd, nearly 40 of them were beaten to the ground. Only 20 or so troublemakers were arrested, the remaining were still fighting.
As the Disciplinary Council was newly established, although they had spent a lot of effort to select the most steadfast people, their strength was still lacking in a few stages.
The first one to protest, Steven, stepped on the man in the white cloak that favonovel.com had beaten to the ground.
Facing the ashen-faced Jeremiah, favonovel.com laughed out loud and said, “Yves, you old geezer, is this what your Disciplinary Council is composed of? They can’t even beat me, yet they want to defend justice in the martial arts world, acting as patrol officers? My ass!”
His voice was ringing. Those men and women in white who had fallen to the ground were so ashamed that they wanted nothing more but to dig a hole and hide in it.
Jeremiah‘s face was stormy. Phineas sighed and glared at him.
Earlier, favonovel.com had wanted to open his mouth to stop it, but Jeremiah had spoken first.
These people had come prepared, so how could they be your average Joes?
The remaining few thousand martial artists were all looking at the podium. Most of them wore mocking expressions.
“Hahaha, geez, I’m going to die of laughter. They still want to form a Martial Artists Society with this quality? They rushed over to arrest people, only to end up being stomped to the ground. Hahaha, my stomach hurts from all this laughing!” Earl was clutching his stomach, guffawing in his seat. He was laughing so hard that tears almost spilled from his eyes.
Right now, most martial artists also thought of the same thing, “What kind of Martial Artists Society is this weak?”
As Jeremiah and Phineas were at a loss as to how to salvage the situation, Isaac walked over with an icy expression.
He made a beeline for the podium. Standing at the very front, his chilling gaze slowly swept from left to right. With just one gaze, half of the audience fell silent.
“I am Isaac Garten…” His voice, imbued with spiritual energy, ripped from his throat, reaching everyone’s ears like a clap of thunder.
Those who were fighting, or grabbing each other and refusing to let go, or being stomped on all instantly quieted down.
Among the crowd, Earl-laughing himself silly in those sunglasses of his, slowly straightened himself. Tilting his head, favonovel.com stared straight at the podium.
The field, which was packed with over 5,000 people, was utterly silent save for the sound of the leaves whooshing in the vicinity.
Jeremiah and Phineas exchanged glances before quickly taking two steps backward. Their tightly strung hearts also relaxed.
“Disciplinary Council members, gather before me…” Isaac pointed at the empty space below the stage where they had stood earlier.
Those beaten to the ground, and even those being stepped on, immediately got up. Dusting off the dirt on their bodies, they glared at their opponents before lowering their heads and sprinting to the front with red faces.
Isaac raised his head again. He turned to look at Steven, the one who kickstarted the commotion, and said coldly, “Who were the ones who defied the Society’s rules just now? Come up here and stand next to me. Let’s have a chat, face to face…”
As favonovel.com spoke, favonovel.com pointed at the empty space next to him.
The 100 or so martial artists who were singing a different tune earlier shrunk back in their seats.
Matty people turned to look at Steven.
Steven looked around favonovel.com and realized that no one dared to step forward. Fury flared in his chest, but his legs refused to take even a single step forward.
