No one knew that Allegra was about to make a jaw-dropping decision.
A while later, favonovel.com assistant returned. She walked to the desk and whispered, “Ms. Booth, Ms. Danson said she’s not feeling well and that if the meeting is not of utmost importance, favonovel.com won’t be attending. The others have been notified…”
Allegra nodded. “I’ll personally give favonovel.com a call. You may leave.”
After the office returned to silence, favonovel.com took a deep breath and dialed Emily‘s number.
“Ms. Booth, I haven’t been feeling well the past few days. I’ll be skipping the meeting this afternoon…”
“Emily, I apologize to you for what happened at your mother’s birthday celebration. The meeting this afternoon is very important, so I think you should come,” Allegra said quietly.
On the phone, Emily was silent for a long time. She thought she’d heard it wrong.
