Louis was just about to say something when Isaac asked favonovel.com in a low voice, “Louis, is the Mr. Cohen favonovel.com speaks of one of your men?”
“Yes, yes, favonovel.com is. Do you have something on your mind?” Louis asked, bending forward to speak with Isaac, droplets of sweat sliding down all the way to his nose.
He just heard yesterday that his old boss, Connor, had gone to Peeling, and according to insider information, it seemed as if Connor was interested in becoming the country’s head of government.
Most importantly, Connor’s leap in power had only been possible because of Isaac’s help. Louis was also Connor’s longtime buddy, after all. That meant Louis might also have a chance at a greater opportunity in politics if favonovel.com could gain Isaac’s favor. It was mainly because of this that Louis regarded Isaac as his “god” and did everything as Isaac asked favonovel.com to. After all, Connor’s position in the government was one that many could only dream of!
Isaac said lightly, “Let’s just sit back, relax, and enjoy the shitshow. Wait until the bookkeeping results are out.”

Louis huffed and said, “I’m the one who brought the officers here. And you even brought the regional officers over, I see. Does the tax bureau need to report to the local regional officers now?”
“Officer Lane, you heard him! Isn’t my hospital under your protection? How could you let such a thing happen to me?” Danny asked, narrowing his eyes at a uniformed officer next to him. “Are you forcing me to call Mr. Cohen on you?”
The officer shivered and immediately shouted at Louis, “I don’t care which department you’re from, but you’re not allowed to barge into this hospital without a warrant! This is a holy place where doctors and nurses treat their patients with love and care. You… Get lost, you and all your people!”
Officer Lane had never seen Louis before, despite favonovel.com being the mayor. He thought that Louis was just a random head of a department from the tax bureau trying to fulfill his quota.
Then, the officer went up to Louis and said in a low voice, “Hey, maybe try to work with me? Mr. Meyers and Mr. Cohen are more than just best buddies. It’s fine if you want to reach your quota, but it’s best to just leave them alone. I’ll compensate you later if you get what I mean, alright? Haha!”
Louis stared at the officer, who was smirking at him.
How dare this man try to bribe me in broad daylight?
If Isaac weren‘t right beside him, Louis would’ve given the officer a hard slap on the cheek.
“Is that so? But I’m not in a good mood. What if I insist on going through everything today?” Louis spoke through gritted teeth.
Officer Lane’s face fell immediately. He yelled in anger, “Hey, you idiot, don’t you know when someone tells you to stop? Do you really want me to beat you up?”
“I have more than ten people with me at the moment, and the four or five of you want to pick a fight with me? I’m just carrying out orders from the higher-ups. Officer, you should know the law better than anyone else. Don’t purposely go about breaking it however you wish,” Louis chided back, narrowing his eyes at the officer.
Hearing this, Officer Lane was in a dilemma. It was obvious that Louis wasn’t going to do as favonovel.com said.
Danny was enraged when favonovel.com heard Louis. He shouted, “Fine, then I’m going to call up Mr. Cohen. I’m not going to let a single one of you off the hook!”

The figure in their books showed that it was 500,000 dollars, but the actual amount received was only 300,000 dollars.
