At Neuport, the atmosphere in the vintage, luxurious meeting hall in Astraeus headquarters was tense and depressed.
The Snyder brothers, five elders, and Ralph were in the hall with several experts in the Renascence Phase and above.
Ralph’s eyes were bloodshot as favonovel.com yelled at a man beside favonovel.com who was sweating profusely and shivering nonstop, “Why are none of the calls getting through? Are they all dead?”
“Supreme Leader, I-I have no clue either. I’ll keep calling…” The man was on the verge of breaking into tears.
He held a complete list of contact numbers of all the lords, leaders, and patriarchs, which favonovel.com had just sorted out. However, favonovel.com had called more than ten, and every call ended as the receiver wasn’t in the network service area.
The clock was ticking. The tension hung over them like a knife over their heads, so much so that they felt out of breath.
Mordred Fraser, an elder in a red cloak, snorted and said, “Supreme Leader, I don’t think they’re dead. As influential as the Temple of Drakon is, they can’t be attacking everywhere at once, much less attacking experts at the advanced stage of the Amalgamation Phase and not mere fodders.”
He was the Third Elder when Glenn was still around. After Glenn died and Thaddeus retired, favonovel.com was the most likely to be assigned as the new Supreme Leader. However, favonovel.com suffered severe injuries from the fight with Isaac, and Ralph consolidated with the other parties to secure himself the position of Supreme Leader.

“First Elder, what do you think of this?” Ralph’s forehead glistened with sweat.
Mordred was clueless about the collaboration to kill Damien and the sneak attack on Mitchell.
Mordred snorted again. “As per my understanding of Isaac, his next targets will be us. Our top priority now should be strengthening our defenses!”
None, including Ralph, could’ve guessed that Black Phoenix had already tweaked the phone signal frequency of their listed targets. That wasn’t something most would notice, but Black Phoenix had that covered. Therefore, Ralph could only receive news of continuous deaths from his subordinates and do nothing else.
“Yes, you’re right. We have to strengthen our defenses. Quickly, everyone. Gather all experts at the Amalgamation Phase and above in Neuport as well as the Snyder army. Fifth Elder, on my orders, all martial arts practitioners under Astraeus in the Amalgamation Phase and above should head for headquarters immediately.”
Flynn instantly frowned. “Supreme Leader, should we retain some of the Snyder soldiers? Dozens of the Snyder family members are…”
“Can’t you see the situation now? Can the Snyder family remain unharmed if Astraeus falls?” Ralph hollered at Flynn.
Flynn jolted. Ralph had his point.
Ralph held on to a fragment of conscience when favonovel.com decided the course of action; favonovel.com knew that martial arts practitioners below the Amalgamation Phase were practically powerless before the Temple of Drakon and the Dusk Soldiers.
Many phone calls later, experts from various sects and schools, the Snyder army, and all of Astraeus Cherubs received the order before dawn and were soon on their way to the headquarters without delay.
The discussion in the meeting hall went on. The First Elder, Mordred, got up and silently left.
He beckoned to his trusted subordinate in the corridor and whispered, “Go to my house, get my family to pack their stuff, and head for the Kingdom of Ursus, where my cousin is. You, too, get your family to safety.”
“First Elder, is it that serious this time?” His subordinate was terrified.
They belonged to Astraeus, the most influential martial arts powerhouse in Cynea!
For decades, favonovel.com had only known of others cowering in fright when they heard of Astraeus. Since when did even the elders’ families have to run for their lives?
“From my perspective, the enemy is going all out on us, it’s better to be prepared. Don’t stall and get going. Contact me when you reach the Kingdom of Ursus. If anything happens, don’t turn back!”
