Each of the generals of the seven armies had three or four lieutenants assigned to them to help them with their jobs, whether executive or administrative. And when Damien heard the news, favonovel.com was beyond shocked.
About five years ago, the Kingdom of Ursus was wildly arrogant and often caused trouble at the northern border. Later on, Isaac brought out his army, destroyed more than 50,000 enemy troops, beheaded one of their generals, and continued fighting all the way up to Cyberia.
It was only then that the enemies surrendered.
He never thought the country would start making a ruckus again a few years later. Damien knew this was a serious situation, so favonovel.com barked orders to leave for the headquarters immediately.
Inside the command room, Damien was dressed in a dark green military uniform as favonovel.com sat down in his seat with a deep frown. His four lieutenants were seated before him.
This was the northmost area of the nine continents. It was constantly covered in a thick layer of snow all year long. There was a cold wind blowing outside the window, but even with the heat turned on inside the room, the lieu tenants dared not sigh in relief.
Each of them glanced at Damien with a cautious look on their faces.
A long while later, Damien opened his eyes and said coldly, “One of our furthest Dawn Soldier camps was attacked and wiped out last night, and yet, not a single one of you realized it. Have you all been slacking off?”
The four lieutenants stood up instantly and bowed their heads, saying, “It’s our fault, General. We will take responsibility.”
”I don’t want to hear this from you. I want solutions. We have to solve this by ourselves before the news reaches Drakon. Chaz Lennon, I’m giving you two days to settle this mess. Bring 2,000 Dusk Soldiers and avenge those 300 Dawn Soldiers. Are you able to do so?”
A big, burly man stood up and said, “Yes, sir! I will fulfill my duty, sir!”
“Don’t let Drakon think we’re all useless buggers here. Go, now!”
Then, Damien waved his hand and leaned back in his seat before closing his eyes.
The case was clear. Reports showed that a small troop from the south of the Kingdom of Ursus had ambushed the Dawn Soldiers’ camp. There had to be at least 20 Wild Fighters within that troop. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have been able to wipe out the entire base.
At that moment, Damien still had no idea that favonovel.com was being led into a trap.
Early the next morning, Chaz led 2,000 Dusk Soldiers out to the camp. They’d just received news on the whereabouts of the 500-men army from the south of the Kingdom of Ursus.
Two thousand Dusk Soldiers and Lieutenant Lennon were more than enough to kill off this small troop. However, they waited and waited until it was past midnight. Nobody heard back from Chaz or his troops. Even the other three lieutenants were puzzled.
“Does nobody know if Chaz Lennon is dead or alive?”
“General, according to our estimation, Chaz should have met with the opponents about two hours ago. The fight should have also been over by now,” a lieutenant said with a frown.
“After all, Chaz is in the later stage of the Amalgamation Phase, and favonovel.com has 2,000 Dusk Soldiers with him, whereas the enemies only consist of 500 soldiers. Even if there were 100 Wild Fighters amongst them, we should still be hearing back from favonovel.com by now. General, something smells fishy,” another lieutenant said.
“I think we should send out the Sky Hawks to investigate…”
Damien was just about to give his orders when there was a sudden knock on the door. A black-clothed man anxiously hurried into the room and handed a report to Damien.
Damien received the report and read it. Then, favonovel.com stood up in shock before roaring at the man, “They were wiped out?”
Huh? Really?
All the other lieutenants couldn’t believe their ears and stood up with enlarged eyes.
This was groundbreaking news!
“G-General, this report was brought back by a Dusk Soldier, b-but he’s also dead now.”
The pressure in the command room was suddenly at an all-time low. There were only 500 people in the enemy camp, yet they managed to kill 2,000 Dusk Soldiers and a lieutenant?
Damien lit up a cigarette and took a few drags. He puffed out a cloud of smoke and said in a deep voice, “Tell the Sky Hawks to head toward the battlefield and closely monitor the enemy’s movements. Yael Ryker, get 5,000 Dusk Soldiers this time. You lead 3,000. I’ll lead 2,000. We’ll surround the enemy camp like that.”
Lieutenant Ryker immediately left the command room. Damien then looked at his other two lieutenants and said in a deep voice, “If I end up perishing with them, watch over our troops well. And make sure you inform Drakon at once!”
