Rodrick was sweating profusely. He kept signaling at Arian and even walked toward him.
“Rodrick, come and sit by me. Isaac, you too!” said Ethan abruptly.
Rodrick halted.

Arian’s subordinate forwarded the email to the technical department, and they received the results within half an hour.

Ethan waved, and Arian took a few steps backward.

Hearing this, Rodrick’s face paled. He trembled and looked at Ethan, horrified.
“That depends on your course of action.” Isaac smiled.
Ethan gestured, and one of the men in suits briskly stepped forward, taking out a notebook and a pen.
“Prepare a draft tomorrow morning… No, now… To dismiss Rodrick Shaffer of all of his duties at the House of Custos, and the court-martial shall take over for the trial. Effective today, none of the Shaffer family members shall serve in the military forces. All those currently in service shall be demoted three levels and not warranted for promotion except for distinguished honors.”
Rodrick slid out of his seat.
The Shaffer family was stunned. It was nothing less than a bombshell, so much so that they felt themselves trembling from the inside out.
They understood Rodrick losing his position, but besides that, at least eight other family members served in the military forces and held important positions. Their demotion would shake the Shaffer family’s foundation!
“Mr. Grannel, p-please… Please…”Rodrick quivered, kneeling, and watched Ethan with tears streaming down his face.
“Rodrick, did I give you and the Shaffer family a second chance?” asked Ethan.
Rodrick was speechless.
Ethan stood and glanced at Isaac, saying, “Kid, your wife and kid are still with me. Aren‘t you going to get them?”
“Ah… I almost forgot… Sorry for the trouble, Mr. Grannel.” Isaac slapped the back of his own head and laughed.
Rodrick watched Ethan and Isaac leave, then crawled to Arian and yelled, “Sir! Sir! Please help me…”
“Rodrick, you’ve been too hasty!” Arian sighed and left.
Phineas and the elders left too. The hall fell silent.
Rodrick knew that the news of his dismissal and the Shaffer family members’ demotion would spread among Pecling’s aristocrats tonight. By tomorrow, those whom the Shaffers had wronged would wield their “weapons” and take revenge.
The Shaffer family was in complete ruin.
Outside the funeral parlor, Isaac saw Phineas and his men. He paused before saying, “Phineas Lodge, was it? Meet me at the Obsidian Hotel in a while. I want to have a word with you.”
Phineas heaved a long sigh of relief as favonovel.com watched the cars leave.

“Sir, who on earth is that kid? Even someone like Mr. Grannell came! He caused Rodrick’s dismissal too…”
Phineas smiled wryly and said indifferently, “He’s the lord of the Temple of Drakon. He’s the one who killed Glenn Snyder.”
