“Do you hear me?”
Glenn’s face was so swollen from the slaps that favonovel.com could barely breathe. Anger and hatred rose in his heart, but favonovel.com couldn’t show them on his face.
“Y-Yes, I hear you,” Glenn said quietly, his tread hanging.
Just then, Jeremiah roared from the back and said, “Elder Snyder! I still have ten or 20 thousand Cadaver Guards at my disposal, why are you still agreeing to what that b*stard says? We can fight until our last breath!”
Jeremiah and Glenn were old buddies, and he’d always been proud to be Glenn’s close friend.
Now, favonovel.com no longer knew whether Jason was still alive or not, and favonovel.com was seeing his most respected friend and Elder kowtowing to an enemy. Jeremiah just couldn’t wrap his head around it.
He had plenty of Cadaver Guards who were willing to fight. Even if Isaac managed to fight off all of them, favonovel.com would be completely exhausted by the time favonovel.com was done!
Isaac lifted his eyes to look at Jeremiah and scoffed coldly. “20 thousand Cadaver Guards? You don’t know who you’re dealing with, do you? Even when the Neals tried to kill me, they brought along 50 thousand soldiers to fight. You’re really underestimating me here…” Isaac said, looking up at the sky.
Everyone followed favonovel.com and lifted their eyes to the sky.
A small black dot was getting bigger and bigger.
Quickly, the deafening sound of an army helicopter sounded as the helicopter hovered above the Yves family mansion.
The 20 thousand Cadaver Guards had stern looks on their faces. They were all waiting for Jeremiah‘s signal.
Amongst the crowd of fighters, a Cadaver Guard suddenly heard a commotion from the woods behind the field.
The commotion kept getting louder and louder, and the sound came from all around them.
The Cadaver Guard quickly turned around to have a look, and his eyes widened into saucers.
A man in black armor wielding a long sword appeared in his line of vision. Then, came another, and another, and another!
These black-armored swordsmen began to multiply in the darkness of the woods.
On the other side of the Yves family mansion, a huge army truck appeared and sped toward the mansion with many more in tow. Soon, at least 100 of these vehicles appeared. The trucks pulled to a stop before the gates. Thousands of black-armored Dusk Soldiers surrounded the entire area.
A middle-aged man ran over to Jeremiah with sweat all over his body and said in a low voice, “O-Old Yves, the Cadaver Guards have been surrounded…”
“What do you mean, surrounded?” Jeremiah yelled in anger.
“T-The black soldiers, they’re all very powerful ancient martial arts practitioners. Their aura is very strong,” the man cried anxiously.
Jeremiah glared at Isaac immediately.
Isaac chuckled and said, “I just have to give the signal, and your entire army of 20 thousand Cadaver Guards will disappear off the face of the earth. My people have been through numerous battles, but your guards, including the Eastwell soldiers, are as fragile as glass…” Isaac then shook his head in disapproval.
Thinking about it, Isaac thought that it was a waste to summon so many Dusk Soldiers after all.
Glenn looked toward the woods in the back and caught sight of the dark shadows hiding there. His face turned ashen.
“Isaac Garten! H-How dare you summon so many Dusk Soldiers? Are you openly challenging Astraeus? Is this a threat?” He couldn’t hold himself back any longer.
Astraeus and the Temple of Drakon had always had a silent, mutual agreement not to meddle in each other’s affairs.
Astraeus wouldn’t touch the Temple of Drakon’s territory, whereas the Temple of Drakon also stayed away from the nine states. However, with Isaac bringing so many Dusk Soldiers from the southwest border, the mutual agreement was now broken!
Seeing the rage on Glenn’s face, Isaac laughed and said, “I’m not the one who broke the agreement. You were the one who stepped on my toes first. So, just tell me whenever you want to start a war, and I will fulfill your wish. After all, every single general from the seven armies is here with me, right now…”
Glenn was infuriated when favonovel.com saw the look of confidence on Isaac’s face.
On the stage, Evie was so nervous that favonovel.com could feel favonovel.com palms sweating. She’d always been the most worried about a war erupting between Astraeus and the Temple of Drakon.
On one side, it was a man with whom favonovel.com had a relationship, but on the other hand, it was favonovel.com father’s own sect.
Just as Evie was about to say something, Isaac turned around and went up the stage. He saw the look of worry in Evie’s eyes and smiled as favonovel.com held favonovel.com hand.
Then favonovel.com turned and said, “Glenn Snyder, I’ll be spending the rest of the day here with the Yves. It’s up to you whether you want to bring me Joseph’s head or not.”
