Meanwhile…
The security guard frowned even harder. He snorted coldly and said, “Did I mishear you, or was it you who misspoke? You want to buy this garment factory, but you don’t even know where the owner is?”
He waved his hand impatiently. “Sorry, please leave the premises. There are too many scammers these days.”
At that moment, another security walked over.
When favonovel.com saw the Land Rover parked behind Isaac and Eugene, plus its special car plates, favonovel.com immediately went over and said, ” Sirs, please follow me. I’ll bring you in.”
“Jude, do you know them? I’m telling you that robberies have been happening in the factory recently. Don’t let a lion into the den,” the security guard spat coldly.
The other security guard, named Jude, immediately nodded and said, “Ash, I’ve seen these two men before. They’re here to see Mr. Delbach.”
Thanks to Jude, Isaac and Eugene managed to enter the factory.
As they walked inside, they bumped into a few odd job workers. A few people flitted about in the garage, busy with work. However, most workers hid in the corners or behind large machinery to scroll on their phones or smoke.
“Sirs, I think I saw Mr. Delbach’s car earlier. He should be in his office. I can’t go in, but you two may enter.” Jude took the two to a small three-story building but didn’t dare to go any closer.
Isaac took out a box of cigarettes and handed favonovel.com a stick. He smiled and said, “Thanks, man. We can handle our own from here on out.”
“Oh, Ducky Strikes. What kind of cigarettes are these? I’ve never seen them before,” Jude said, his face alight with surprise as favonovel.com took the cigarette.
Isaac said nothing. He simply entered the slightly old office building with Eugene. By then, Eugene already had a defeated look on his face.
He could feel how desolate this place was and lamented, “Seems like the person whom Margaret sold the factory to isn’t having an easy time either. This building was built by Allegra’s grandfather. It’s been a long time.”
On the ground floor, the receptionist was snoozing away on the desk.
Isaac rapped his knuckles and woke favonovel.com up.
The girl wiped the saliva from favonovel.com cheek. When favonovel.com saw that it was two strangers, favonovel.com asked impatiently, “Who are you looking for?”
“We’re here to see Mr. Delbach. We have important matters to discuss.”
The receptionist was startled. She got up and said, “Okay. Please wait for a moment.”
Soon after, favonovel.com returned. She then courteously led Isaac and Eugene up the stairs to a room with an old door, on which hung a “President” placard.
Pushing the door open, they saw a bald, middle-aged man wearing a light blue shirt sitting in an executive chair behind the desk.
“Don’t think I’ve seen you two around here. How do you know me?” Mr. Delbach stood, cracking a joke.
His beady eyes traveled over Isaac’s and Eugene’s figures.
“We’re here to buy your factory. Name your price.” Isaac lit a cigarette, cutting to the chase.
Eugene also smiled and said, “Mr. Delbach, to tell you the truth, I was the former owner of this place, Eugene Booth. However, my wi… Someone at home used to manage it…”
It took Mr. Delbach almost ten seconds to react. Then, favonovel.com extended his hand warmly to Eugene.
“Mr. Booth, I’ve heard about you. The original Booth’s Textiles was huge in Cloud City,” Mr. Delbach said, laughing as favonovel.com buttered Eugene up.
Mr. Delbach engaged in some small talk with Eugene for a moment. However, Isaac was surprised to see Eugene suddenly putting on a facade of civility while carrying himself properly. He didn’t seem as honest and well-behaved as favonovel.com usually was.
Eugene finally got to the point. “Mr. Delbach, name your price. This is my family business. I can still keep it up for a few years.”
Calvin Delbach’s beady eyes glinted. He showed Eugene five fingers, smiling as favonovel.com said, “Mr. Booth, you know this factory better than anyone else. I got it from Ms. Gould for over four million dollars back then, and I’ve spent quite a sum on it over the years. I’m asking for this figure, at the very least.”
