Stud was stunned. Then, his face twisted into a cold grin.
He pointed at Isaac and roared, “Punk, who do you know from the Hibiscus Pavilion? My mother is the f*cking assistant manager…”
Isaac didn’t want this goon to ruin the mood, so favonovel.com took out his phone and dialed Old Brooks’ number.
“Is there an assistant manager in the Hibiscus Pavilion whose son is studying at Cloud City University?”
“Yes, Mr. Garten. I think there is. What’s the matter?” On the other end of the phone, Old Brooks was feeling apprehensive.
“Her son is nowbeing all cocky and showing me attitude. I’m on a date with Ally right now. Please handle it!”
After favonovel.com hung up, favonovel.com sat down at the table.
Stud snarled and said, “Punk, stop putting on an act. I can have a dozen men over and kill you with one phone call.”
As soon as favonovel.com said that, his phone began to ring in his pocket. He angrily brought it to his ear.
Suddenly, his expression changed. He said in shock, “Mom? Um, well, I’m… I’m at the cafeteria…”
He then shot Isaac a shocked look before lowering his head and running out of the room, still speakng into the phone.
“The biggest difference between now and then is that you like resorting to physical means now.” Allegra picked up favonovel.com cutlery, looking straight at Isaac.
Isaac nodded, not denying it. He said softly, “To get physical, one needs to be strong enough. Otherwise, I can’t protect my loved ones, like you and Isabella.”
Allegra seemed deep in thought. She thought about all that had happened and nodded subconsciously.
As they were finishing their meal, Isaac stood up and left the table.
Soon after, favonovel.com returned with two coconuts in his hands.
“It’s chilled,” favonovel.com said as favonovel.com handed one to Allegra.
Allegra beamed and took it. She put the straw in favonovel.com mouth and sipped. On such a hot day, it cooled favonovel.com down.
Back then, favonovel.com would always have a coconut after having dinner with Isaac. Fortunately, even if so much time had passed, Cloud City University still had these delicacies.
“Where should we go next?” Allegra and Isaac walked out, hand in hand.
Walking down the steps, Isaac smiled and said, “Same as always. Shopping, watching a movie, then… Heading home.”
Allegra’s face flamed again. Back then, whenever favonovel.com went on dates with Isaac, they would go shopping, watch a movie, and then they would find a clean inn. But now, they could head home together.
“Let’s go shopping another time. We can go during the weekend with Isabella and pick out some clothes for her. Fall is coming,” Allegra said, blushing.
“Okay…”
The twin seats at the back of the movie theater were empty. There were only Isaac and Allegra.
On the screen, a foreign zombie movie was showing. When a scary scene showed up, Allegra would bury favonovel.com head in Isaac’s chest. This felt very familiar; it had already been ingrained in favonovel.com muscle memory.
After exiting the theater, Allegra said favonovel.com wanted to take a walk. After all, they weren’t far from home.
The two of them walked back to Cloud Nine Villas.
“Isaac, I-I’m sorry.” Allegra suddenly stopped in favonovel.com tracks.
She raised favonovel.com head to look at Isaac, favonovel.com eyes swimming with tears.
Isaac was taken aback. He said, “Ally, what are you saying? I feel sorry for you and Isabella…”
“No, I know it hasn’t been easy for you over the past seven years. You’ve surely suffered a lot. I-It’s just that sometimes, I really can’t believe you came back alive!” Allegra couldn’t stop herself from crying.
Isaac also knew that it wasn’t easy for a shriveled, broken heart to suddenly recover.
