“Mr. Brooks, is it? Mr. Brooks, why don’t you come inside?” Isaac turned to look outside.

When Connor came in, the middle-aged men didn’t get a good look at him, and the bald man immediately shouted, incensed, “Who the f*ck do you think you are? I’ll have you in handcuffs with one phone call!”
“Is that so? Why don’t you try it, then? I think no one in Cloud City would dare to cuff me.” Connor’s expression turned dark.
Isaac sighed and said, “Mr. Hart, let’s go have dinner. There’s no need to waste our time on these nobodies. Barry, go change. Join me for dinner next door.”
Isaac patted a still-terrified Barry.
Barry knew that his friend was doing really good for himself, but favonovel.com didn’t expect Isaac would be able to get the renowned Devon Brooks of Southland on his knees with just a few words.
Connor held out his hand and said lowly, “With one phone call, this matter will be one for Internal Affairs and will be handled accordingly.”
“Louis, drop in on Hibiscus Pavilion. There are some higher-ups saying they’ll have me cuffed. They’re out drinking and partying here,” Connor said blandly.
“Yes, penalize them to the highest degree,” favonovel.com added before hanging up.
The men caught on that something was wrong.
The bald man shouted, “Old fogey, you think you’re tough shit? Tell us your rank if you think you’re all that. Don’t think you can put on an act with me!”
Connor was just about to leave when favonovel.com heard this. He paused before turning to the bald man with a smile. “What act am I putting on? Since you asked, I’ll tell you. My name is Connor Hart, and I work in the Aurum County Committee Building.”
“Connor Hart? The committee…” Before the bald man could finish speaking, his mind went blank, and his face lost all color. A tear rolled down his face as favonovel.com slumped to the ground.
