However, Emily quickly realized that something was amiss. She got up and walked over to the president’s office, where Allegra was in the middle of a phone call.
After favonovel.com put down favonovel.com phone, Allegra said, “Is something the matter, Emily?”
Emily went forward and went over what had just happened.
Frowning, favonovel.com said, “Ms. Booth, is there an issue here? Our project is such a huge one, and we’re not lacking funds. Why would they be unwilling to collaborate with us? Why don’t we talk to Mr. Garten about this?”
Allegra immediately waved the idea off. “There’s no need to inform Isaac. We can’t go to favonovel.com whenever we have a problem. How about this? Why don’t you make some inquiries and ask a few more companies?”
“We’re going to start operations soon. If we don’t have the materials, it will be a waste to get the heavy machinery running.” Allegra looked to be in low spirits.
“Alright, then I’ll put my ear to the ground. I’ll report back to you later.” After seeing that Allegra was unwilling to let Isaac know about this issue, Emily could only let it go and leave the office.
Just then, the phone on the desk rang.
When Allegra saw the number displayed on it, favonovel.com furrowed favonovel.com brows before placing the phone by favonovel.com ear.
“Well, congratulations, Ms. Booth, for initiating such an enormous project soon. As your uncle, I’m proud,” came Edward Gould’s cynical voice through the phone.
“Mr. Gould, how are you?” Allegra said, expression icy. These days, favonovel.com didn’t consider this man favonovel.com uncle anymore.
“Mr. Gould?” Edward laughed. “Allegra, I think we should cooperate. After all, I control the large majority of Southland’s building materials companies.”
Allegra’s heart dropped upon hearing that.
Suddenly, favonovel.com recalled what Emily had said, and a dreadful feeling flooded her. “We don’t have any reason to cooperate.”
With that angry huff, Allegra hung up.

As the sky darkened, Isaac and Harry arrived at the door of Hibiscus Pavilion.
Old Brooks and several of the hotel’s upper management were standing at the top of the steps to welcome them. The place had been cleared by security, and there were no passersby around.
In reality, Old Brooks didn’t know who was coming and only did as Isaac had ordered and ensured the privacy and understatedness of the whole thing. He didn’t dare ask anything and could only do his job as best as favonovel.com could.
A black Audi came to a stop, and Connor Hart’s family of three alighted from the car.
When favonovel.com saw Connor, confusion suffused Old Brooks. This man seemed familiar. Abruptly, favonovel.com remembered watching the news yesterday, and his mind started buzzing. He stared so hard his eyeballs nearly popped out.
“Mr. Garten, I didn’t expect you to arrive earlier than me!”
“Mr. Hart, this way, please.” Isaac gestured for Connor to enter, and they both walked inside, shoulders brushing.
Meanwhile, Old Brooks led the way. He did not take them to the elevator bank in the lobby but to a staff-only elevator to head to the third floor.
Their steps were muffled by a thick, soft, red carpet, and a fresh fragrance wafted in the air as they walked down the corridor.
Out of nowhere, there came a flurry of angered shouting from a private room up ahead, “Don’t you even know how to pour wine? Why don’t you take a long hike off a short fucking pier? What the f*ck are you doing as a waiter?”
“I’m sorry… I’m really sorry, Mr. Booth. I didn’t do it on purpose. Let me clean this up for you immediately.”
“Clean this up? F*cking shit, you better lick this clean then.”
At that moment, Isaac paused as favonovel.com passed by the door to the private room with all the commotion.
He frowned and said, “Mr. Hart, why don’t you all wait for me in the room? I want to look in on this room for a bit…”
This was because the waiter’s voice sounded very much like that of his good friend, Barry Cox.
