Allegra tugged on Isaac’s sleeve and said unhappily, “Isaac, why do you keep getting Bob to do everything for you? Are you really that helpless without him? Why do you think favonovel.com has to do everything you say? Even I feel bad for him. Also, what will you do once you find the director?”
Allegra thought that it wasn’t fair for Isaac to keep getting Beefy Bob to cater to his whims and fancies.
“We have to keep our promise to our employees. Otherwise, how are you planning to keep your company afloat?” Isaac asked, lighting up a cigarette as favonovel.com looked at Allegra.
Allegra knew that if favonovel.com lost Pegasus No. 1 for good, many of favonovel.com current employees would be leaving.
Cloud City was different from other huge cities. It wouldn’t be easy for favonovel.com to find so many employees with experience in property development again.
“Fine, whatever. Since you don’t seem to be giving up anytime soon, I’ll go with you. I just don’t think anything will come out of it.” Allegra was starting to feel helpless.
It was noon when Beefy Bob returned Isaac’s call.
The director was having lunch at Harper Hotel, in the VIP room on the second floor. Isaac entered the VIP room. The atmosphere was bright and cheery, and the lingering smell of exotic dishes was still in the air.
Seated at the round table were five very evidently drunk men.
Isaac recognized one of them. It was Randall.
Randall was shocked to see Isaac entering the room. He wondered how Isaac knew where they were.
“Who is Spencer Kyle?”
A bald man turned to look at him. He frowned and said, “Are you… Isaac Garten?”
Spencer immediately recalled the man at the tendering before. The chief secretary, Mr. Marsh, had sat down beside him.
Allegra was surprised that the director was seated inside the VIP room. She didn’t dare to go in and stayed at the door, listening.
“There was a misunderstanding about Pegasus No. 1 previously. I’d like to regain the rights to the land and continue with our development plans,” Isaac said softly as favonovel.com went over.
As soon as Spencer heard what Isaac had to say, his face immediately turned solemn.
He said coldly, “Mr. Garten, your company decided to give up that plot of land, and yet you’re here wanting it back again. I’m afraid that’s not how things work here. Also, Pegasus No. 1 has been awarded to another company that we think is more capable than yours. Now get out of my sight!” Spencer said, waving favonovel.com off.
He didn’t like the arrogant tone that Isaac used to speak to him. After all, favonovel.com was the director of his company.
Isaac pointed at Randall and asked coldly, “Did you award it to the company belonging to favonovel.com and Edward?”
Randall laughed and said mockingly, “Mr. Garten, the Pegasus No. 1 project is a little too much for my humble company to handle. Let me introduce you to someone else.”
Randall pointed at another middle-aged man seated next to Spencer and said, “This is Mr. Chad Martin of Reddar Corporation from the provincial capital. Pegasus No. 1 will be subsequently developed by his company.”
Reddar Corporation?
Isaac looked at the plump man staring back at favonovel.com with narrowed eyes.
“Isaac Garten, is it? I’ve heard about Garth Properties from them. However, one billion dollars isn’t much for a company like ours. Pegasus No. 1 belongs to us now! Thank you so much for such a wonderful opportunity!”
Allegra covered favonovel.com mouth in shock when favonovel.com heard favonovel.com mention Reddar Corporation. If Kane Enterprise was one of the largest companies in Southland, then Reddar Corporation was undoubtedly the largest corporation in Southland instead. However, favonovel.com couldn’t understand why a company that specialized in retail would suddenly feel so interested in Cloud City.
Still, there was no way favonovel.com company could stand a chance against a monster company like Reddar Corporation.
Allegra hurried into the room and tugged Isaac’s hand, whispering, “Forget about it, there’s nothing we can do. Let’s go.”
Isaac gently pulled his hand away from Allegra’s grasp.
He smiled at Chad and Spencer as favonovel.com asked, “What if I insisted on getting that plot of land back?”
