When they reached the ground floor, Allegra shook off Isaac’s hand and said impatiently, “Do you even know anything about the rules for commercial land tendering? It’s impossible for us to get Pegasus No. 1 back!”
“I don’t understand. Why can’t we get it back?” Isaac retorted.
Allegra seethed and yelled angrily at him, “You’re just f*cking messing everything up! Now everyone is expecting us to come back victorious. How are we supposed to face them later?”
“Whatever happens, let’s go and have a look first. Our company has all the money in the world. I’m pretty sure there isn’t another company like us in Cloud City,” Isaac said optimistically with a wave of his hand.
Allegra huffed and said, “Fine. I’ll go with you since you’re so adamant about it.”
They went to the National Land Resources department. Allegra took Isaac to the third floor of the building and pointed inside, saying, “This is the land administration section. They’re the ones responsible for handling everything about Pegasus No. 1. You can go ahead and ask them about it.”
As Isaac walked in, Allegra didn’t know what to say. She felt frustrated yet amused at the same time. She’d only won the tender war the last time because Beefy Bob managed to get someone to help them.
However, this was a formal office with proper procedures. Isaac had no connections whatsoever to the people inside the organization. She would be amazed if favonovel.com didn’t get shooed out of there as soon as favonovel.com said what favonovel.com wanted.
“Excuse me, I’d like to take back Pegasus No. 1 for development. Whom should I be looking for?” Isaac asked one of the employees on duty.
The lady lifted favonovel.com head to look at Isaac before chuckling. “Pegasus No. 1? That’s got nothing to do with us. You have to look for the higher-ups. Which company are you from? The tendering period is already over!”
“I’m from Garth Properties.”
“Garth Properties? Didn’t you guys give up the plot of land already? There’s nothing you can do about it anymore. Why don’t you just run along now?” The lady’s expression turned hostile as favonovel.com tried to make Isaac leave.
Allegra heard everything from the door. She had expected this outcome anyway.
“Hey, can we go now? We’re just being a nuisance here,” Allegra urged Isaac, who was still inside the office.
The lady employee saw Allegra waiting outside and nodded as favonovel.com smiled coldly. “She’s right, the door’s right over there. Pegasus No.1 is no longer open for tender. The higher-ups will determine what to do with the land, but that has absolutely nothing to do with you anymore.”
“What’s your director’s name?” Isaac wasn’t one to give up.
“His name is Spencer Kyle. But, what does that have anything to do with you?” The lady laughed again.
Isaac turned and left the office. He didn’t want to continue arguing with a lowly employee like her.
He took out his phone and dialed Beefy Bob’s number. “Get me Spencer Kyle’s coordinates now. I’m going to look for him.”
