“Alright, I can see that you’re both exhausted. Go home and have a good rest,” Isaac said, waving them off with a smile.
“I know that the incident is over already, but I don’t think I’ll be able to return to my job anymore. If there’s any way I can repay you, you can call me at once. I would do anything,” Louis said with a nod.
Isaac chuckled. “Haven’t you been proven innocent? Why aren’t you going back to your old job?”
“Mr. Garten, it’s still a black mark on my record. This kind of thing isn’t good for someone who represents the state. I don’t think they’ll be taking me back anyway,” Louis said with a bitter smile.
“I don’t think that’s necessarily true,” Isaac replied with another chuckle, taking out a cigarette.
