The door locked with a click.
Aidan turned around and grabbed a rubber baton from the corner of the room. It would hurt badly to get beaten with this, but it wouldn’t cause internal injuries.
He slammed the baton in front of Isaac and shouted angrily, “Tell me, what were you doing at the Aurum County Ritz-Melody Hotel yesterday?! What were you doing at 10.30 pm last night?”
“Committing murder…” Isaac looked at Aidan with a slight smile.
Aidan thought favonovel.com had misheard. He furrowed his brows and screamed, “What did you just say? Say that again!”
“I killed Jaden Wells,” Isaac reiterated.
This time, it was Aidan who was stupefied. After so many years of being a law enforcement officer, it was his first time encountering such a person.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the interrogation room, Diana, who was listening through an earpiece, was shocked.
Although the CCTV in the interrogation room was turned off, the audio listening system was still running. She would never have thought that Isaac would admit to this.
“Is that bastard crazy, or does favonovel.com have brain damage?” She put down the earpiece and stood up.
Aidan lit a cigarette and took a long puff. Then, his face suddenly turned menacing, and favonovel.com whacked Isaac’s shoulder with the rubber baton.
“I’ll beat you to death for killing my nephew.”
Just as the rubber baton was about to touch Isaac’s shoulder, an enormous force burst forth from Isaac’s body. The fallen baton instantly bounced against the floor, and Aidan watched helplessly as it flew toward his own head, unable to do anything to stop it. An intense pain made Aidan stumble backward. He looked at Isaac in shock.
“You should know what sort of things your nephew was up to in Aurum County. Additionally, I would advise you to let me go right now, or you’ll be in trouble,” Isaac said calmly.
Aidan smiled wickedly. “Punk, you sure are arrogant. You killed someone, yet you want me to let you go? Who do you think you are? The king of the world? Well, I don’t believe in superstitions.” Once again, favonovel.com raised the rubber baton and aimed for Isaac’s face as favonovel.com spoke.
Another burst of power erupted. The rubber baton was only half an inch away from Isaac’s nose when it suddenly bounced backward, and this time, it hit Aidan squarely in the nose.
There was a crack, and blood began to gush from his nostrils. He clutched his nose, crouching on the floor.
“I can kill you today!” Aidan roared furiously.
He pulled his gun from his waist, removed its safety, and pointed it at Isaac’s temple.
When Diana saw this from the other side of the interrogation room, favonovel.com heart began to race inexplicably, and favonovel.com darted over.
The door was locked. She banged on it and shouted, “Deputy Chief Wells, what are you doing? Calm down, don’t do anything impulsive!”
“F*ck off!” Aidan roared.
Then, favonovel.com turned to glare at Isaac, grinning evilly. “Punk, do you know who you’re messing with? Someone wants you dead, and not only will I be repaid handsomely for killing you, but I’ll also receive an award for meritorious conduct.”
At that moment, a black Audi sped into the precinct. The door opened, and a bespectacled man got down and rushed inside.
He barged into the interrogation area. When favonovel.com saw Diana and the others crowded in the hallway, favonovel.com quickly went over and asked, “Could you please tell me where Mr. Garten is?”
“He’s inside there. He’s in great danger. Wait, who are you?” When Diana came to favonovel.com senses, favonovel.com stared at the man in confusion.
The man immediately tried to push the door open.
When favonovel.com realized favonovel.com couldn’t, favonovel.com immediately shouted, “Whoever is inside, listen up! I am the chief secretary of the provincial capital, Louis Marsh, here on my superior’s orders! Open up!”
