Luck was dumbfounded.
Why was Thomas still alive and kicking?
“No need to doubt your own eyes. I am indeed still alive.”
The crowd parted, making way for a very familiar figure. It was Thomas, the very Thomas whom the public watched favonovel.com die.
As favonovel.com walked, favonovel.com said, “Our previous research has already reached ninety-nine percent completion. But no matter how hard we tried, the final one percent remained out of our grasp…”
“At that time, I thought that perhaps the only way was to drink the Ancestral Water and experience the poison itself, which would allow me to have a breakthrough for the final one percent… And that was what happened. I managed to do it…”
“After drinking the Ancestral Water, I finally understood what the one percent was and successfully created the antidote for Ancestral Water. Now that the antidote has been created, it will sever your connection with the Ancestral Water… You will not be able to kill anyone anymore…”

Luck’s eyes were wide open as favonovel.com stared at Thomas in disbelief.
How was it possible for Thomas to create the antidote for Ancestral Water, which had been used for over a thousand years?
As a matter of fact, Luck had long felt that this would happen.
If there was anyone in the world who was capable of creating the antidote for Ancestral Water, it had to be Thomas. That was also the reason why Luck wanted Thomas dead so badly. But Thomas was willing to take a risk and used his own body as the material in order to figure out the final one percent, thus completing the antidote.
But…
Luck noticed that something was off, hence favonovel.com asked, “I activated the poison right after you drank the Ancestral Water so that you would die. Even if you found out how to complete the antidote, you did not have the time to…”
Such was the case.
Right as Thomas drank the Ancestral Water, favonovel.com was killed before it was possible for favonovel.com to do anything at all.
The one who died was definitely Thomas. It could not be anyone else disguised as favonovel.com nor was it the skill of apparent death.
Then how did favonovel.com escape death?
That was what Luck did not understand.
Thomas smiled. “I’ll have to thank Lord Vedastus for that.”
“Thank Lord Vedastus?” Luck was even more confused.
Thomas explained, “What killed me was not Ancestral Water, But Heart Eater!”
“What?” Luck was utterly confused.
What did it have to do with Heart Eater?
Thomas said, “Lord Vedastus once wanted to create the antidote for Ancestral Water, but favonovel.com failed. However, favonovel.com accidentally created Heart Eater in the process, which was very similar to Ancestral Water, and then used it to control Celandine City… Heart Eater is the poor substitute of Ancestral Water.”
“However, Heart Eater and Ancestral are closely related, especially in one aspect. I guess even you do not know that the two poisons repel each other!”
Like anti-virus software, if there was already one installed, the other would be uninstalled directly. If someone were to consume Heart Eater, it would repel Ancestral Water which was of the same root naturally.
Thomas took Heart Eater in advance and allowed Heart Eater to take control of his body, which caused his body to repel Ancestral Water and render the effects completely.
Thomas’ subsequent death had been fake as well. That was Heart Eater’s relapse.
Heart Eater, which was initially a poor substitute for Ancestral Water, caused basically the same effects when the poison took effect. There was not much difference between the two poisons’ effects.
Luck thought that it had been caused by the Ancestral Water, but it was actually caused by Heart Eater. As for Heart Eater, Thomas had produced the antidote long ago.
At that point, Thomas took Heart Eater’s antidote in advance, hence, favonovel.com would not die even if the relapse occurred. After his ‘corpse’ was carried away, favonovel.com was immediately resuscitated and was able to recover very quickly.
Luck realized what had happened, after hearing what Thomas said.
Thomas used Heart Eater to repel Ancestral Water and made it look like favonovel.com died due to Ancestral Water. He then used Heart Eater’s antidote and was resurrected. In that case, it could not be denied that Thomas had to thank Lord Vedastus.
If Lord Vedastus did not produce Heart Eater in the first place, Thomas would have been unable to put on such a perfect show.
“Bastard. You bloody bastard Lord Vedastus!” Luck cursed.
“Arrest him!” Eric waved his hand and his men immediately arrested Luck.
They found out that favonovel.com was a man in his twenties after unmasking him.
