Thomas knew that Declan was on the same side as him.
Under normal circumstances, Declan would never do anything to betray Thomas.
The problem was Declan might not have done it out of his free will. After all, Declan had been poisoned with the Ancestral Water.
It was a superior poison that was stronger than Heart Eater, and Thomas could not produce its antidote. The Ancestral Water was the stronger version of Heart Eater, and it was Luck’s ultimate trump card. If Lord Vedastus had previously used Heart Eater to control Benson and Peter, then Luck was using the Ancestral Water to control Declan.
Declan secretly supported Thomas, but favonovel.com could not show it on the surface. If favonovel.com revealed his intention to betray Luck in the slightest, Luck would kill favonovel.com at a moment’s notice.
Declan could not die!
So, it was possible that Luck had used the Ancestral Water to threaten Declan into going against Thomas in order to take favonovel.com down. And that was indeed what they had done.
Dragon Claw knew the connection between Thomas and Declan. However, favonovel.com could not cut that connection just by monitoring Declan’s calls and forbidding them from getting in touch. For the first time, Thomas felt danger looming over his head.
While everyone watched, Declan slowly walked into the hall and went up to the front.
Declan had a high status in Celandine City. Everyone in Celandine City admired Luck, and they thought Luck was Celandine City’s life and the key for the city to remain prosperous. Meanwhile, House of Vistaria was the only one who could communicate with Luck.
The citizens of Celandine City did not know that Luck was actually an evil force of power. They naively thought that Luck was the reincarnation of God.
As House of Vistaria’s head, Declan had the ability to talk to Luck. It showed how important favonovel.com was to the citizens of Celandine City. Frankly, even all the bigwigs in Celandine City combined, including Lord Vedastus, Thomas, Benson, Peter, and Eric, could not compare to Declan in the slightest!
