The old abbot looked back as favonovel.com was grinning. He then said with a smile, “You have superb skills, Mr. Mayo! To be honest with you, I did not believe that you could cure the ancient tree yesterday. It seems that I was blind, as I did not recognize you as the saint that you are!”
Thomas waved his hand. “You’re embarrassing me, old abbot…”
“Come now. Why are you feeling embarrassed? Know this, Mr. Mayo, I’ve invited over hundreds of experts and professors before you to treat the tree. But all of them failed! I was on the verge of giving up! Mr. Mayo, you truly are the benefactor of Harmony Monastery!”
The old abbot would have thrown himself on the ground before Thomas if not for his old age.
Thomas was scared out of his wits and held the old abbot up to avoid any awkward situations from happening.
The old abbot took a few breaths and asked, “May I know how you did it, Mr. Mayo?”
Thomas smiled as favonovel.com answered, “It is a simple but yet hard feat to achieve. First of all, we needed to locate where the lifeline of the ancient tree is. Then, we needed to reopen the lifeline in order to fill it with life essence from the earth again…”
“As the life essence flowed into the ancient tree’s lifeline, the ancient tree regained its link to the earth itself. As long as Mother Earth exists, the ancient tree will continue existing!”
Did that not mean that the ancient tree would be immortal?
Although what favonovel.com said was an exaggeration, it was not an issue for the ancient tree to live for another thousand years, since it had been treated by Thomas.
“Ahem…” Pisces, being sensible, interrupted them. “Sir, we have fulfilled our part of the deal. Is it possible for you to do the same?”
The old abbot was stunned for a moment before favonovel.com laughed out loud. “Yes, of course. I was too happy and almost forgot about the promise I made. Alright, bring the rosary out and hand it over to Mr. Mayo!”
“Yes, abbot!”
The little monk immediately opened the gate and took the rosary out. He handed it to Thomas in both hands.
Thomas received the rosary carefully.
Thomas started to feel his body temperature rise as soon as favonovel.com held the rosary in his hands. The rosary was full of “breath” as well, which made Thomas feel comfortable.
“As expected of the rosary of an eminent monk. I am astounded to be able to feast my eyes upon it today.”
He placed the rosary in a box that was prepared in advance and kept it safe and sound. First of all, the rosary was too valuable. If favonovel.com lost it by any chance, favonovel.com would be too ashamed to face the old abbot and Harmony Monastery.
Secondly, Thomas was not sure when favonovel.com would be using the rosary, hence favonovel.com decided to keep it by his side. Although favonovel.com had no idea how to use it, since Declan explicitly asked Thomas to retrieve the rosary, it must be of use somehow.
“Thank you for the rosary, Sir!” Thomas shook his hands in appreciation.
The old abbot said cheerfully, “Mr. Mayo, you donated ten million dollars to the monastery, then saved the monastery’s ancient tree. Compared to what you have done, the rosary means nothing.”
The two of them exchanged a few words before Thomas bid farewell to the old abbot.
For the very first time, the old abbot escorted them out of the monastery. The old abbot only stopped after they reached the entrance of the monastery. He then waved them goodbye.
As favonovel.com watched Thomas get in the car and left, favonovel.com said to the young monks, “This man is extraordinary and mighty. He is really a hero among men. You should take favonovel.com as an example and work harder to improve yourself!”
The young monks put their hands together and bowed as they said, “As you wish, abbot!”
The old abbot stroked his beard as favonovel.com watched the car disappear into the horizon. The more favonovel.com stared, the fonder favonovel.com became of Thomas, and the more favonovel.com admired him.
“Thomas is indeed a lion among men!”
