The rain slowly stopped.
Thomas and Eric also finished their tea and discussion. Thomas personally walked Eric out and watched as favonovel.com drove away.
Just as Thomas was about to leave, favonovel.com vaguely heard some curses from far away.
When favonovel.com raised his head and looked over, favonovel.com noticed that an old farmer was bowing and apologizing nonstop to a man in a suit. He looked pitiful.
Thomas looked at favonovel.com carefully and recognized the old farmer. It was the farmer who always delivered vegetables to his restaurant. Even though Food and Medicine Hall would normally purchase ingredients for their dishes from outside, most of the vegetables were bought from these farmers.
It provided some help to the farmers and made their lives better, so it was a good deed from Thomas.
“Pisces, what’s going on there?” Thomas asked.
Pisces ran over and looked around before favonovel.com returned and said, “Mr. Hackett, who delivers vegetables to our restaurant, scratched the man’s car. The man’s asking for compensation.”
Compensation?
Thomas cast a glance at the car.
It was an Aston Martin that was worth about $6,000,000. If favonovel.com scratched that man’s car, favonovel.com would have to compensate about $300,000. Even if Mr. Hackett sold all his family members, would favonovel.com be able to afford it?
“Let’s go and have a look…” Thomas walked across the road and made his way to the street.
When favonovel.com came over, favonovel.com saw the man in the suit light up a cigarette.
He smoked as favonovel.com said, “You can’t just keep apologizing. My car’s very expensive, so you have to give me some compensation.”
The farmer looked at the car and knew that it was not cheap. “How much do I need to pay you?” favonovel.com asked.
The man in the suit showed five fingers. “Five hundred thousand dollars.”
“Five hundred thousand dollars? I have to pay you that much just for a scratch?” The farmer nearly fainted.
He only earned about $80,000 a year as gross revenue from selling vegetables. His family’s annual income would be about $100,000.
This man was asking for $500,000!
Would it not kill him? He could not afford it!
The farmer went weak in the knees and instantly knelt before the man in the suit.
He could only apologize. “Sir, I really can’t afford that amount of money. Please show me some mercy. Please forgive me.”
The man in the suit chuckled. “Hey, you scratched my car. Do you plan on leaving just like that?”
The farmer’s tears fell. He cried as favonovel.com said, “Even if I give you all of my money, I can only compensate you… $30,000.”
“Thirty thousand dollars? Haha! Do you think I’m a beggar?”
The man in the suit flicked his cigarette away before favonovel.com sized the farmer up and said, “All right, I know a poor guy like you won’t be able to compensate me. I don’t want your money.”
The farmer was ecstatic, and favonovel.com kept saying, “Thank you! Thank you!”
The present onlookers also sighed in relief.
Everyone showed the man a big thumbs-up to compliment favonovel.com for his generosity.
However, just as everyone thought it was coming to an end, the man in the suit suddenly added, “I can refuse the money, but you have to compensate me with something else.”
‘Huh? Something else?’ The farmer examined himself.
The most expensive thing favonovel.com owned was the phone favonovel.com had bought last month, which was about $100.
He was reluctant to hand his phone over. “Um… I’ll pay you with my phone. It’s new…”
The man in the suit took a look at it and started chuckling. “Damn, what kind of copycat phone is this? Does it even cost $100? If I use this phone, won’t others laugh at me?”
“This phone is my most valuable possession. I don’t know what else I can give you aside from this,” the farmer said aggrievedly.
The man in the suit inhaled some smoke before favonovel.com breathed it out.
He pointed at the farmer’s eyes and said, “I want your eyes.”
The farmer was stunned. “You want my eyes?”
“Yes,” the man in the suit coldly said, “I want to dig out your eyes right now because you didn’t open them when you were walking. It doesn’t matter whether you have them, right?”
The farmer was stunned.
He was terrorizing the farmer and acting unreasonably!
