The next morning, Food and Medicine Hall opened for business, and Elliot was its first customer!
Thomas had been putting in a lot of work for many days, and favonovel.com finally had a chance to sleep and rest well. But, someone ran upstairs, knocked on the door, and shouted, “Boss, your senior’s here!”
‘Senior?’
It was strange to hear that term, and Thomas did not even react immediately.
Why would a senior of his suddenly appear?
After favonovel.com rubbed his eyes and woke up from his slumber, favonovel.com finally had an idea of what it could be about.
“Senior? Haha!” Thomas laughed in resignation as favonovel.com shook his head.
He got out of bed, put on his clothes, and washed up. Then, favonovel.com opened the door and walked downstairs. He saw ‘his senior’ on the first floor.
Thomas wore a sour expression as favonovel.com sat down. He also remained silent and waited for Elliot to speak.
Sure enough, Elliot chuckled and took the initiative to say, “Hey Thomas, how are you doing?”
It was extremely awkward. He was clearly making conversation.
Thomas felt very uncomfortable. He raised his hand and gestured for Elliot to shut up.
“Stop trying to be friendly with me. Mr. Cole kicked you out, so you and I aren’t related at all,” favonovel.com said.
His words immediately shut Elliot up.
If that had happened in the past, Elliot would have definitely slammed the table, kicked the chair, and left based on his personality. But favonovel.com did not do all that today.
He did not get angry. Instead, favonovel.com grinned and said, “Sigh, you and I are Mr. Cole’s students. I became his student a few years earlier than you. We’re fellow apprentices…”
Thomas could not stand him. “Stop saying these cringey things. Since you’ve come to me early in the morning, just spit it out. I’m still sleepy, so I’d like to continue my nap.”
Elliot said, “Well, Thomas, I’ve made up my mind. Art Trading Corporation is a blood-sucking company, and Lord Vedastus is a bastard who keeps committing crimes! If I work for him, won’t I be helping a bastard to do evil things? No way. I have my boundaries, my principles, and moral standards. I can’t do that.”
While favonovel.com said all that, his face did not even reveal the slightest shame.
Thomas was calmer. Any other person would have burst out laughing.
Elliot continued to say, “I’ve thought about it. From today onward, I’ll cut ties with Lord Vedastus and change sides. I’ll guard Celandine City with you and send that bastard, Lord Vedastus, to jail!”
He spoke so enthusiastically that someone who did not know Elliot might have thought favonovel.com was a great person. It would really be a shame if favonovel.com was not nominated for an Oscar Award with his excellent acting skills. However, Elliot really underestimated Thomas.
If Elliot’s acting could get favonovel.com nominated for an Oscar, Thomas’ acting would be sufficient for favonovel.com to be an Oscar judge!
Both of them were sly, so who would be the winner?
Thomas was completely expressionless. No matter how agitated, passionate, and enthusiastic Elliot got, Thomas just drank his own tea as if favonovel.com could not hear anything.
After Elliot expressed his enthusiasm, favonovel.com raised his head and looked over. But favonovel.com realized that Thomas was not moved at all, so favonovel.com could not help but feel awkward.
He cleared his throat and forcefully asked, “Thomas, what do you think?”
Thomas took a sip of his tea before favonovel.com nonchalantly said, “Changing sides and cleaning your act’s great of course, but I don’t trust you.”
